TL; DR
- Digital Chat Station leaks confirm OPPO Find X9 Ultra’s camera sensors.
- It will use a 200 MP LYT-990 main sensor (1/1.1-inch, IMX09E) and a 50 MP LYT-828 sensor (1/1.28-inch, IMX09A) for the 3X telephoto.
- Some rumors hint at Samsung’s 200 MP ISOCELL HP5 for the 6X periscope zoom.
The hype around OPPO’s Find X9 Ultra just keeps climbing, and fresh leaks from Digital Chat Station are pointing to a camera setup that could dominate the smartphone market in 2026.

Starting with the main shooter, OPPO is reportedly ditching the 1-inch sensor used in the Find X8 Ultra for a new 200 MP unit. DCS says that it’s Sony’s LYT-990 1/1.1-inch sensor. The 3X periscope will be using the Sony LYT-828, which is a 50 MP sensor with a large 1/1.28-inch size. That’s the largest on any smartphone.

In fact, the sensor is so huge, it’s almost the same size as the main sensors being used on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 17 Pro. And this will be used at 3X zoom, or 70 mm focal length.

Another major upgrade could be the 6X periscope. While not confirmed yet, rumors are strong that OPPO might go with Samsung’s 200 MP ISOCELL HP5 sensor. On paper, this thing is built for long-range zoom: 200 MP, 1/1.56-inch size, 0.5μm pixels, and support for crazy detail retention.
We are not sure how OPPO will pull this off in the constrained space of smartphones but yeah, that’s what the rumor states. The ultra-wide is expected to remain the same—Samsung JN5.

As for the competition, vivo is expected to use the 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPE sensor. Unless they upgrade the aperture, they’ll be left behind. With OPPO potentially jumping to the HP5, the Find X9 Ultra would be completely unmatched in zoom performance. If the HP5 makes it in, this setup just becomes unbeatable.

Of course, leaks are still leaks, and the Find X9 Ultra won’t be launching until next year. But with the main and 3X sensors seem to have been locked in, and the HP5 rumor gaining steam, it looks like OPPO is gearing up to set the gold standard for smartphone zoom.
