Oppo Pad could come with key specs like Snapdragon 870 and 16:10 120Hz display

The new indoor lifestyle has pushed up demand for portable big screen devices like tablets. Thus, in recent times, we have seen brands like Realme and Motorola join the fray that already included incumbents like Samsung and Lenovo. And pretty soon, we will be getting a tablet from Realme’s sister concern Oppo and much like it, this forthcoming tablet is likely to carry the Pad surname. Not only that, a fresh new leak suggests the key specs of this ostensible Oppo Pad.

An active leakster by the name Digital Chat Station has claimed the Oppo Pad would feature a Snapdragon 870 processor and a 120Hz display with a novel 16:10 aspect ratio.

Oppo China president Liu Bo has already revealed the company will launch its first tablet in the first half of 2022. So, when it does arrive, here’s what you could expect:

Oppo Pad Specs (expected)

As mentioned in the title and the intro, the Oppo Pad is said to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip inside and a 120Hz panel on the surface. The source of this info has shared some screenshots disclosing the display will be flaunting a 1600×2560 resolution, a trending 16:10 aspect ratio for a better vertical real estate, and support for 120/60Hz two-stop adjustment refresh rate. Going by previous leaks, this is rumored to be an 11-inch screen, btw.

Earlier rumors also add details like an 8MP front camera, a 13MP Hynix Hi336 rear camera, an 8080mAh battery with fast charging support, 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, 256GB of storage, and Android 12 OS with ColorOS skin on top.

Now, this software would be custom tailored for the tablet experience and therefore include functionalities like a desktop mode, a dock bar, widgets, and a multi-terminal interconnection enabling simultaneous collaborative operation across this device and other Oppo products. For starters, there would be support for seamless switching between Oppo phones and tablets. Going forward, other ecosystem nodes like laptops, TVs, headphones, watches, etc.

Mr. Bo had professed plans to expand beyond tablets to other multi-form smartphone products in the future. So, this tablet would probably mark a step towards that. Anyways, we shall share more details with you as we have them.
