Oppo has finally confirmed the launch date of its next Reno Series in its home country China. For the last few weeks, there have been rumors about the Reno 12 Series being in the making and now the official date of launch is here. Oppo Reno 12 Series will arrive in China on 23rd May. The series will most likely include two smartphones- Oppo Reno 12 5G and Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G. Successor to the Oppo Reno 11 Series, this one is said to include Oppo AI features and some hardware upgrades as well.

Oppo Reno 12 5G
Reports claim that the Oppo Reno 12 5G will be powered by the newly launched MediaTek Dimensity 8250 chipset which is also known as Dimensity 8200 Star Speed Edition. It is an octa-core SoC based on a 4nm TSMC process and featuring 1x Arm Cortex A78 prime core at 3.1GHz, 3x Arm Cortex A78 performance core at 3.0GHz, and 4x Arm Cortex A55 efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. There will also be a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for better efficiency.
Other specs of the Oppo Reno 12 vanilla model are still shrouded in mystery.

Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G
The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G will most likely use the Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset for end-to-end gaming. The chipset helps game developers make a full-quality experience with more realistic and smooth graphics, faster touch and network response, and longer battery life.
The Pro version is said to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ 1.5K curved OLED panel with 1600 nits brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to have up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The smartphone will run Android 14 with Color OS 14 and most likely pack a 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging.

In terms of camera optics, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is said to feature a 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, and 50MP telephoto sensor at the back and a 50MP snapper at the front for selfies and video calls.
Additional features will include 5G, Stereo speakers, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1, and much more.
Oppo will also launch Oppo Enco Air 4 Pro TWS buds alongside the Reno 12 Series.
Since the launch is just a week away, more details about the Reno 12 Series are expected to surface soon. After launching in China on May 23rd, Oppo will launch the Reno 12 Series in India too next month.
