How to check Pan-Aadhaar link status via Income Tax Website

Step 1: Go to the Income Tax Department’s website

The first step in checking your PAN-Aadhaar link status online is to go to the Income Tax Department’s website. You can do this by entering the following URL into your web browser:https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/pre-login/bl-link-aadhaar

Step 2: Punch in PAN and Aadhaar numbers

Once you have reached the Income Tax Department’s website, type in your PAN and Aadhaar numbers in the given feild. It is located under the ‘Quick Links’ section.

Step 3: Enter your PAN and Aadhaar details

After clicking on the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option, you will be redirected to a new page where you will be asked to enter your PAN and Aadhaar details. You will also need to enter your name as it appears on your Aadhaar card.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Validate’ button

Once you have entered all the necessary details, click on the ‘Validate’ button located at the bottom right of the page.

Step 5: Check your PAN-Aadhaar link status

After clicking on the ‘Validate’ button, you will be redirected to a new page where you can check the status of your PAN-Aadhaar link. The status will be displayed in a green box at the top of the page. If your PAN and Aadhaar cards have been successfully linked, the status will read ‘Your PAN is linked to Aadhaar Number XXXX XXXX XXXX.’ If your PAN and Aadhaar cards have not been linked, the status will read ‘There is no PAN-Aadhaar linking.’

Step 6: Check your details

In addition to checking the status of your PAN-Aadhaar link, you can also verify the details entered on the website. Look for the ‘Confirm Aadhaar Details’ section on the same page where you checked your link status. Verify that your name, date of birth, and gender are correct.

In case of any discrepancies, you can follow the instructions provided on the website to update your details. You can also contact the Income Tax Department’s helpline for assistance.

How to check Pan-Aadhaar link status via SMS

Step 1: Compose an SMS–type UIDPAN followed by a space.

Step 2: Enter a 12-digit Aadhaar number followed by a space.

Step 3: Enter a 10-digit Permanent Account Number (PAN) followed by a space.

The SMS will look like this-

UIDPAN < 12 digit Aadhaar number> < 10 digit Permanent Account Number>

Step 4: Send to 567678 or 56161.

Step 5: Wait for a response from the service.
