TL; DR
  • While the original device and its compatible accessories have been around for quite some time, Philips is reportedly working on the successor to the Hue Bridge: the Hue Bridge Pro.
  • Bridge Pro can be up to five times faster than the current model, thanks to a new quad-core Cortex processor.
  • Interestingly, the Pro version also gets a new “MotionAware” feature, which converts the lights into motion sensors and triggers the set automation routines.

Among smart lighting enthusiasts, the Philips Hue Bridge is a well-known name. Essentially, it is a device that acts as a central hub for the Hue lighting ecosystem, serving as a communication gateway between smart bulbs, switches, and control devices (such as smartphones, tablets, or voice assistants).

Enhanced Support For 150 Lights

While the original device and its compatible accessories have been around for quite some time, Philips is reportedly working on the successor to the Hue Bridge: the Hue Bridge Pro. To kick things off, the Pro version will increase the number of devices supported to 150 lights and 50 accessories. This is more than three times the current limit, making up for a solid update.

Improved Performance With New Processor

When it comes to performance, the Bridge Pro can be up to five times faster than the current model, thanks to a new quad-core Cortex processor with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz and 8GB of RAM (again, a massive upgrade from the current model). With the new chipset, the Pro model also gets a built-in Wi-Fi chip that supports both wireless networks and Ethernet LAN.

New MotionAware Technology

Thanks to the increased processing power, the Philips Hue Bridge Pro will support up to 500 scenes (or custom light settings), along with over 50 controls, increasing buyers’ automation options. Interestingly, the Pro version also gets a new “MotionAware” feature, which converts the lights into motion sensors and triggers the set automation routines.

USB-C Connectivity

Unlike the current Hue Bridge, the Hue Bridge Pro relies on a USB-C port for power, enhancing the overall compatibility. It will also support Google Home, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Apple HomeKit, and the Matter standard.

Philips Hue Bridge Pro: Leaked Price & Launch Date

Regarding the Hue Bridge Pro’s price, the device could launch at EUR 89,99, which is higher than the EUR 59.99 retail price of the outgoing model. In the United States, the device is expected to launch at around USD 100. The device is expected to launch during or before the IFA tech conference in Berlin and start shipping on September 4, 2025.

The company may also announce an official integration with Sonos Voice Control, enabling users to control their connected lights using their Sonos speakers.
