Want to own a Playstation 5 gaming console but waiting for its price to drop? Well, here’s your chance. Sony India has announced a limited-time offer for the PlayStation 5 (review), providing a flat discount of Rs 7,500 starting from July 25 until August 7. During this period, the PS5’s price will be reduced to Rs 47,490, down from the current retail price of Rs 54,990. It’s important to note that this discount is applicable only to the standard disc edition, while the digital edition remains unaffected.

Last year, Sony raised the price of the PS5 in certain global markets, including India, citing challenging economic conditions such as high global inflation rates and adverse currency trends. The disc-drive version’s price was increased to Rs 54,990, and the digital edition’s price was set at Rs 39,990. In April, the company had briefly offered a Rs 5,000 discount on both editions.

This new price cut marks the first time that Sony’s flagship game console will be sold at a lower price than its launch price. To avail of the limited-period offer, customers can purchase the discounted PS5 from select participating retailers, including Amazon, Flipkart, Shopatsc, Reliance, Croma, Vijay Sales, and others.

Sony has also addressed the supply shortage issues, assuring customers that the PS5 will be more readily available soon, especially through offline channels. PlayStation chief Jim Ryan recently confirmed that the supply problems have been resolved, encouraging potential buyers to take advantage of the limited-time offer starting from July 25, 2023, until August 7, 2023.
