Extending its mid-range 5G smartphone lineup in the country, Poco India has launched the new M8 5G. At a starting price of Rs. 15,000, the handset seems to offer excellent value for buyers’ money, with a 120Hz AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon chipset, a 50MP primary camera, and a mid-tier battery that supports fast wired charging.

The Poco M8 will be available in three memory and storage variants in India from January 13, 2026, exclusively via Flipkart.

Early customers can avail of a Rs. 2,000 instant discount with ICICI, HDFC, and SBI bank credit cards.

Those who purchase the phone in the first 12 hours (from when the sale begins) will also get an additional discount of Rs. 1,000, reducing the effective price of the base variant to Rs. 14,999, the mid variant to Rs. 16,999, and the top variant to Rs. 17,999.

The Poco M8 5G ships with a 6.77-inch 3D curved AMOLED screen that reaches a peak brightness of 3,200 nits and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. Besides, the screen supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate, covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and produces 68.7 billion colors (12-bit display).

Under the hood, the Poco M8 sports the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (4nm) chipset (4 x 2.4 GHz performance cores + 4 x 1.8 GHz efficient cores), the Adreno 710 GPU, up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Out of the box, the smartphone runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15.

Poco has promised four years of OS updates and six years of security updates for the device, which is quite decent. Regarding optics, the handset has a 50MP (f/1.8) primary sensor on the back (with a 2MP auxiliary sensor), and a 20MP (f/2.2) selfie shooter on the front. While the rear camera can record 4K30 video, the front camera tops out at 1080p30.

The handset is powered by a 5,520 mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging. Connectivity options on the smartphones include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, NFC, IR Blaster, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port.
