POCO X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max Launched in India with Large Batteries and Dimensity Chips

POCO has introduced the POCO X8 Pro series in India, launching two smartphones: the POCO X8 Pro and the POCO X8 Pro Max. The company has also announced a Marvel-themed Iron Man Edition of the POCO X8 Pro, available with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.

The POCO X8 Pro is available in two configurations:

  • 8 GB + 256 GB: ₹32,999
  • 12 GB + 256 GB: ₹35,999
  • POCO X8 Pro Iron Man Edition (12 GB + 256 GB): ₹37,999

POCO is offering a ₹3,000 bank discount on the device.

The POCO X8 Pro Max is available in two variants:

  • 12 GB + 256 GB: ₹42,999
  • 12 GB + 512 GB: ₹46,999

A ₹3,000 bank offer is also available for the Pro Max.

POCO X8 Pro Specifications

The POCO X8 Pro features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display using a TCL M10 panel, with 120 Hz refresh rate, 3500 nits peak brightness (25% APL), and 2000 nits HBM brightness. The bezels measure 1.5 mm on three sides and 1.7 mm on the chin.

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, which POCO claims delivers around 2.2 million points on AnTuTu as per POCO’s claims. The device uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Thermal management is handled by a 5300 mm² dual-layer IceLoop vapor chamber cooling system.

The rear camera setup includes a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main camera (1/1.95-inch sensor, f/1.5, 26 mm) along with an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, the device uses a 20 MP selfie camera with 0.8X auto zoom.

Battery capacity is 6,500 mAh, with support for 100W PPS wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The device also includes Dynamic RGB lighting around the camera module, used for notifications, music synchronization, gaming, and calls.

Additional features include IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance, metal frame construction, glass back panel, dual stereo speakers, and HyperOS 3 with 4 OS + 6 years of security updates.

The POCO X8 Pro Max uses a 6.83-inch 1.5K TCL M10 AMOLED display with 2772 x 1280 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 3840 Hz PWM dimming, 3500 nits peak brightness, and 2000 nits HBM brightness. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and achieves a 94.23% screen-to-body ratio.

POCO X8 Pro Max

The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor, built on a 3 nm process. The CPU configuration includes 1x Cortex-X925 at 3.73 GHz, 3x Cortex-X4 at 3.3 GHz, and 4x Cortex-A720 at 2.4 GHz, paired with the Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU with ray tracing support.

POCO claims the chip reaches around 3 million points on AnTuTu v11. Memory uses LPDDR5X Ultra RAM running at 9.6 Gbps, along with UFS 4.1 storage.

The device includes a 9,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W HyperCharge, PPS support, and 27W reverse wired charging. The battery is rated for 1600 charge cycles, which POCO claims equates to about six years of battery lifespan.

POCO X8 Pro Max

The camera system consists of a 50 MP Light Fusion 600 main camera (1/2-inch sensor, f/1.5) with dual native ISO, alongside an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. The front camera uses a 20 MP sensor with the same 0.8X auto zoom feature as the Pro.

The phone includes an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, dual symmetrical stereo speakers capable of 400% volume boost, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC, IR blaster, and eSIM support. The device uses a fiberglass back panel and metal frame, measures 8.2 mm in thickness, and weighs 220 grams.

POCO X8 Pro Max

It carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K durability ratings, meaning it is resistant to dust, high-pressure water jets, and immersion. The POCO X8 Pro Max is available in Black, White, and Blue.
