PS5 Cloud Streaming To Offer 4K Resolution

PlayStation 5 cloud streaming service arrive this month in Japan, Europe, and North America. The service enables cloud streaming access to supported PS5 digital titles from the PS Plus Game Catalog and those owned by PlayStation Plus Premium members. In other words, it will allow users to stream video games without installing them on their console, saving disk space. 

PS5 Cloud Streaming Features

The cloud streaming service will let users access top PS5 hits from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Saints Row IV, Mortal Kombat 11, etc. It will also enable players to try PS5 games like Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3, and more. At the launch, the titles available to stream will be limited, but PlayStation has promised to add many more games in the future. 

PlayStation 5 Cloud Streaming resolution options

For streaming, players get several resolution options, including 4K, 1440p, 1080p, and 720p, with an option for 60 frames per second. One can stream a game in standard dynamic range (SDR) and high dynamic range (HDR). Other benefits include 5.1 and 7.1 audio ability to capture screenshots and record up to three minutes of video. PS5 Cloud Streaming also provides downloadable content and in-game purchases. 

The official press release mentions that the service is already out in several regions, including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, and the United States. In the coming days, PlayStation will release it in Japan (October 17), Europe (October 23), and North America (October 30). The new feature will be automatically added to players’ PlayStation Plus Premium membership.
