Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Chipset: What to Expect

The successor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to bring significant performance gains. Rumors suggest that it will still retain a 6+2 CPU core layout but a more powerful Adreno 840 GPU, which will offer up to 30% faster graphics performance and a 26% uplift in AnTuTu scores. Reports also suggest LPDDR6 RAM and enhanced Pegasus CPU cores, with clock speeds reaching up to 5GHz. The improvements will take place due to Arm v9 architecture, new Nuvia-designed CPU cores, and TSMC’s advanced N3P node.
Smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will start launching in September or October 2025, with early adopters likely to be brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, realme, and Motorola. The Xiaomi 16 series is expected to be the first to draw power from the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. Other expected devices are iQOO 14, OnePlus 15, and HONOR Magic 8 series.
