Qualcomm is all set to host a chipset launch event on May 20 and recent leaks suggest quite a few things that will be unveiled on the stage including Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processors. If the latest reports are to be believed, Nothing Phone 1 will be the first phone to feature Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.

Qualcomm Launch Event on May 20

Among the two upcoming SoCs, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ will be the successor of Qualcomm’s current flagship chipset while Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be a new 7-series processor for mid-range premium smartphones. We should also receive a list of smartphones from brands including Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, and Vivo that will be a flagbearer of these processors.

While there’s no official detail about the upcoming Nothing Phone 1 yet rumors allege that it will include a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. Here’s every speculation about the first smartphone from Carl Pei’s new venture.

Nothing Phone (1) Expected Specs

Nothing Phone 1 is likely to arrive with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display offering a refresh rate of 120Hz and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It may include a dual rear camera setup with lenses catering for the needs of wide-angle and ultra-wide angle purposes.

The onboard Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset is believed to provide a performance matching Qualcomm’s previous flagship SoCs i.e. Snapdragon 888 or Snapdragon 888+. Since no news has flashed about the fabrication technology of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, it could follow the latest 4nm process node.

Though it’s a matter of a couple of days, we should get a clearer picture of both – Qualcomm processors and Nothing Phone 1.
