Qualcomm is said to be working on its own handheld gaming console similar to Nintendo Switch. The console is reportedly to get a Qualcomm chipset running on the Android 12 operating system. With this, the chip manufacturer will enter into the consumer electronics market as well.

According to a report from Android Police, Qualcomm could employ a flagship processor with 5G support on its console. The source also claims to have seen the in-work images of the device having detachable Joycon-like controllers at both sides of the console similar to the Nintendo Switch.

The device is believed to possess a thick design aimed for a thoughtful purpose. It would provide sufficient space to install thermal control equipment that will ultimately enhance the processor performance. Also, Qualcomm will utilize the space to pack a massive 6000mAh battery with Quick Charge support. The console will have an SD card slot to expand the memory.

To offer the 5G connectivity to its gaming console, Qualcomm is expected to employ its X55 modem. Rest, the device will be equipped with Bluetooth, GPS, accelerometer, and dual-zone haptic sensors for a smooth gaming experience. The console will support Google Play services and the Epic Games Store app.
