Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Now Manufactured in India

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has started manufacturing the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models in India with an objective to deepen the cars’ localization to significantly cut costs. With this move, the Range Rover has received a shot in the arm in its bid to achieve higher sales in foreign markets. 0-litre diesel HSE Lundy which was earlier priced at Rs 2.36 crore, has seen a sales decline of Rs 44 lakh provisionally due to fluctuations in price of petrol and dol. The 0-litre diesel Dynamic SE car comes with a price tag of Rs 1.40 crore, down by Rs 29 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India).

Jaguar Land Rover Made in India

This is a major achievement and signifies that for the first time, besides UK, manufacture of these premium sports utility vehicles will be done within the country and JLR’s Pune plant will be the host to this operation. For instance, this plant has been assembling models such as the Velar, Evoque, Jaguar F-Pace, and Discovery Sport, which have been important in cutting down the lead time on these best-selling SUVs.

Among premium automobiles, the Range Rover is a favorite of Bollywood celebrities and the wealthy class; it sale of 394 units FY2024 with more demand for the larger LWB model. In its recent announcement, Land Rover claimed that the 3. variant, the 3.0-litre diesel HSE LWB variant is now priced at Rs 2.36 crore will increase to 2.60 crore. Compact Cruizer’s pricing strategy starts from Rs 44 lakh and Rs 56 lakh respectively from the original expenditure.

Beside assembly operations, JLR has recently commissioned ‘Range Rover House’ in Alibaug, Maharashtra, which provides clients with a unique and luxurious brand experience. Some of the first Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs, made in this facility will be displayed here, evidencing JLR’s serious intent on the Indian market.
