The Ray-Ban Meta glass “will be coming soon to India” and other regions like Mexico and the United Arab Emirates. Globally, the glasses came out in September 2023. However, they were only made available in a handful of regions. Now that the product has gained immense popularity worldwide, Ray-Ban and Meta are gearing up for its Indian launch.

The company hasn’t revealed the exact details about the launch, including the date and time. The price of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses is also under wraps. The glasses cost $299 in the United States for the frame and basic, non-prescription lenses (around Rs. 25,600). We speculate the Indian pricing will begin somewhere between Rs. 35,000 and 40,000.

Powered by Meta AI, the smart glasses enable users to have hands-free conversations with the AI chatbot, gather more information about what they’re seeing by asking questions, make phone calls, listen to music, and live stream to Facebook and Instagram, all while maintaining an everyday look and feel. 

The smart glasses are developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica and integrate Meta AI in all their features. As mentioned earlier, users can interact with the AI chatbot, control their music/podcast playback, and capture first-person perspectives of landscapes and scenarios through photos and videos.

The Ray-Ban Meta glasses are also expected to arrive in India with the new offline live translation feature, an update being rolled out globally. The glasses are also set to receive the ability to send/receive text messages, photos, and audio/video calls via Instagram. Meta is also improving the availability of music streaming platforms to overseas markets. 

In markets where the glasses are already available, the glasses are now shipped in new colors and lens combinations. We await more information from the company about the Indian launch date, time, and price of the glasses.
