Realme launched its 10 Pro Series at the end of 2023, and today Xiaomi launched the Redmi 12 Series in India. While the Realme number series consists of Realme 10 Pro and Realme 10 Pro+ devices, the Redmi Note 12 Series includes Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ smartphones. While both these series promise to give premium quality smartphones at aggressive pricing, today we will compare the high-end variant of both the series, the Realme 10 Pro+ 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, to decide which one is a better choice.

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G Vs Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G: Design

The Realme 10 Pro+ comes with a curved display with two camera rings at the top left side of the backside. Realme has done well by slicing down some of the bezels in the front. There are hardly any bezels around the screen. It is also the lightest of the two phones weighing just 173 grams.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has a flat display with three cameras on the back. The phone has an aluminium frame and weighs 208 grams with a thickness of 8.9mm. The Realme 10 Pro+ 5G comes in 3 colours- Dark Matter, Nebula Blue, and Hyperspace. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, on the other hand, comes in Arctic White, Obsidian black, and Iceberg blue colours.

Result: Design is more about the consumer’s personal preference. You can buy whichever you like more.

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G Vs Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G: Display

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 800 nits brightness, and 1080×2412 pixel resolution. The covered panel looks and feels excellent in hand. It has colour science on point.

While on the other hand, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G has a 6.67-inch Pro-AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1 billion colours, DCI P3 colour gamut, 900 nits brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and more.

Result: Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is better.

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G Vs Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G: Storage & RAM

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G comes in 3 storage models- 8GB RAM/128GB storage, 8GB RAM/256GB storage, and 12GB RAM/256GB storage. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ comes in 2 storage models- 8GB RAM/256GB storage and 12GB RAM/256GB storage.

Result- Both are equal.

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G Vs Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G: Performance

Both these smartphones are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset and have up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. While Realme 10 Pro+ comes running Android 13 with Realme UI 4.0 out of the box, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G ships with Android 12 with MIUI 13. Both phones are promised to receive two android version updates, which means Realme 10 Pro+ will receive Android 14, Android 15 upgrades, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G will be eligible for Android 13 and Android 14 OTA updates.

Result: Realme 10 Pro+ 5G is slightly better due to the latest Android OS.

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G Vs Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G: Camera

Camera setups are one of the most vital points of both these phones. While the Realme 10 Pro+ has a triple camera setup with a 108MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP lens, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ also has three lenses at the back, a 200MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP additional lens. It is the first Note to have a 200MP sensor with Super OIS and many more features. Both these smartphones have a 16MP selfie camera. While these numbers look big but trust me, there is no stark difference in the result.

Result: It’s up to personal preference. Some of you will prefer Realme’s rendering of the image, while others will prefer Xiaomi image science.

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G Vs Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G: Battery

The connectivity options for the Realme 10 Pro+ include 5G, 4G, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, and more. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6, GLONASS, and GPS.

Result- Both phones offer similar connectivity options.

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G Vs Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G: Price

One of the most important aspects while buying a smartphone is the price. The Realme 10 Pro+ 5G starts at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB RAM+128GB storage model, and the 8GB RAM+128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 25,999.

Result- Realme 10 Pro+ is better priced between the two phones.

Realme 10 Pro+ 5G Vs Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G: Conclusion

While both these smartphones offer premium specs at a price of under 30k, some features make Redmi Note 12 Pro+ a better device. It has a 200MP main camera sensor and provides 120W fast charging speed and a Pro AMOLED display. Realme 10 Pro Plus also packs a good screen with a similar chipset and a capable primary rear camera. Xiaomi promises an Ad-free experience, while Realme ships with the latest version of Android.
It all depends on personal preference and which fits your budget better. Both of them are well-rounded devices, and you can’t go wrong with either of them.
