TL;DR

  • Realme has officially confirmed a 7,000 mAh smartphone, but it’s not the GT 8 Pro.

In addition, DCS talked about alternative versions of the smartphone that could come with a 7,500 mAh, even an 8,000 mAh battery cell.

Realme Neo7 With A 7,000 mAh Battery Goes Official

Now, Realme has officially confirmed a 7,000 mAh smartphone, but it’s not the GT 8 Pro. Instead, it will be the Neo7 that comes out on December 11, 2024 (in China). Per information shared by the company, the phone will feature a 7,000 mAh Titan battery, which is developed in collaboration with CATL.

As mentioned in the teasers, the phone is touted to offer up to 3 days of backup on a single charge. Talking about the numbers, the phone is rated to last for up to 23 hours of video playback, up to 89 hours of music playback, and up to 14 hours of video calling. The battery cell uses a high-transmittance electrode with an 800 Wh/L energy density.

How Does The Neo7’s Rated Battery Life Compare With the iPhone 16 Pro?

To make things interesting, let’s compare the phone’s battery capacity and rated usage with the iPhone 16 Pro. On paper, the iPhone 16 Pro has a 3,582 mAh battery cell. However, Apple says the product provides up to 27 hours of video playback. Coming back to the Realme Neo7, the phone has twice the battery capacity of the iPhone, but the rated numbers aren’t as good (27 hours vs 23 hours).

Moreover, the new battery technology on the Realme Neo7 should offer better endurance, even under high loads (such as playing video games in higher frame rates for hours). Further, it is also expected to have a longer lifespan (when compared to the current-generation batteries on the company’s smartphones).

Compiling information from previous rumors, the Realme Neo7 is said to feature a Dimensity 9300+ SoC (which helps score over two million points on the AnTuTu 10 benchmark). Given that the launch isn’t too far away, more information about the Neo7 should surface on the Internet soon.
