Realme GT 2 Pro finally has a launch date. Yes, you heard it right. The upcoming flagship by Realme has an official date for its launch. Realme had already teased about the smartphone launching early in January and now Realme Founder and CEO have shared the date of launch via Twitter. The Realme GT 2 Series will first launch in China on January 4 at 11:30 AM UTC.

Realme GT 2 Pro Innovations

Earlier this week the company held an event to announce what’s new in the Realme GT 2 Pro. Realme confirmed that the upcoming Realme device will have innovations in design, imaging, and communication departments.

It will be the world’s 1st smartphone to be designed with bio-based materials as the back cover uses a bio-polymer that serves as an eco-friendly alternative to fossil raw materials (that contribute to global warming).

The new box design has reduced the overall plastic ratio from 21.7% in the previous generation to 0.3% in the current model. In the camera department, Realme GT 2 Pro will be the first to offer a 150-degrees ultrawide camera, which expands the field of view by 278%. Fisheye mode provides an ultra-long depth of field effect.

In the communication field, GT 2 Pro is said to be equipped with HyperSmart antenna switching technology that is designed with 12 wrap-around antennas covering all sides of the smartphone and supporting mainstream bands in almost all directions, with the same signal strength. This allows the phone to evaluate the signal strength of all antennas and automatically select the one with the best signal.

Realme GT 2 Pro Design

Realme revealed the design of their GT 2 Pro smartphone through various images. The images show a triple-camera setup on the back and a white back panel with a paper-like pattern.

Realme has called it “Paper Tech Master Design” and it might also make it to the regular Realme GT 2. The design is made by Realme Design studio in partnership with Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, who had conceptualized previous Master Edition smartphones by Realme too. It is a sustainable product made by Realme to do their bit for a better future.

Realme GT 2 Pro Expected Specs

The smartphone has been spotted on Geekbench with model number RMX3300 and will come with 12GB RAM and 1TB storage although a 256GB option also exists. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It is expected to sport a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and run Realme UI3.0 based on Android 12. The chipset comes with a clock speed of up to 3GHz and is built on a 4nm fabrication process. The device has earned a score of 1264 in single-core and 3520 in the multi-core test.

Though these devices are expected to be distinct, we still don’t know if all three of them will launch on January 4 or not.

The smartphone is expected to be priced over 800 dollars which means around Rs. 60,740 in India.
