The Chinese smartphone manufacturer realme has confirmed a few more details about the upcoming GT 7 series. As part of the series, the brand will launch the vanilla GT 7 and the GT 7T on May 27, 2025.

Ahead of the realme GT 7 series launch later this month, the brand has confirmed the presence of a 7,000 mAh battery on the handsets. While the battery will provide exceptional screen-on time, it will also support 120W fast charging to reduce the recharging time.
With a 7,000 mAh battery, the realme GT 7 series will enter an elite club of smartphones that offer a massive battery for extended usage, keeping battery anxiety at bay. With 120W fast charging, users should be able to charge the phone up to 100% in about 40 minutes.
realme Publishes A White Paper On “The Future Of Battery Tech”

Alongside the announcement of 7,000 mAh batteries on the realme GT 7 series, the brand has also published a whitepaper in partnership with TUV Rheinland, titled “The Future Of Battery Tech.” In the whitepaper, realme talks about the current limitations of lithium-ion battery technology, including limited energy density, safety-related concerns, cycle life and aging, and limited operating-temperature range.
The brand also mentions how the challenges in environmental protection and recycling technology, resource dependence, cost issues, and problems associated with fast charging act as a barrier to further advancements. Addressing these challenges, realme mentions the different types of new batteries — including solid-state batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and silicon-carbon batteries — along with their advantages and disadvantages.

Further, realme lists multi-cell batteries with a flexible design and high efficiency, and an Intelligent Battery Management System as ways to overcome the challenges. Last but not least, the company introduces its 320W wired charging technology that incorporates a magnetic-coupling DCX step-down mechanism, and 240W wired charging that uses three charge pumps in parallel for current sharing.
