Realme India’s official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle teased a new smartphone lineup, dubbed the Realme P Series, on April 8, 2024. The announcement came after the Chinese smartphone brand recently released Realme 12x, which starts from Rs. 11,999 for the 4/128GB configuration. The Realme P Series has also been confirmed by the company’s vice president, Chase XU. Here’s everything you should know about the Realme P Series.

Realme P Series Launch Date And Availability

Realme India has announced that the P Series will launch on April 15, 2024. Captioning the announcement, the company writes, “Breaking the glass ceiling with a display that will shatter the segment’s potential.” Further, the tagline of the series reads, “Way ahead of the curve.” From what it looks like, the Realme P Series phones will feature a few features that aren’t available in the segment.

As listed on Smartprix’s upcoming smartphone tracker, the Realme P series could debut with two models: the Realme P1 and the Realme P1 Pro. While the former could debut with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, the latter could feature the Dimensity 7050 processor. The P1 could be priced at around Rs. 15,000, while the P1 Pro could cost around Rs. 20,000. Both smartphones could feature a 6.67-inch screen and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging.

The Lineup To Feature 5G Smartphones With Capable Mid-Range Processors

Chase XU has revealed several details about the upcoming lineup. First, the P in the Realme P series stands for “power.” The new lineup will be exclusive to India and available via the popular e-commerce platform Flipkart. The series will consist of mid-range models that support a 5G network and ship with some of the most capable chipsets in the price range. The executive also talks about bold designs for the Realme P Series, which could provide a distinct identity to the new phones.

The P Series Should Compete With These Smartphones

Given that the Realme P Series will consist of mid-range smartphones, it could compete with the likes of iQoo Z9, Nothing Phone (2a), Vivo’s T series, and Realme’s Narzo series. According to some reports, Realme has delisted the GT series from its website. This might indicate that the company plans to replace the GT series with the P series, but that’s something we’re yet to find out. More details about the Realme P lineup should appear on the internet soon.
