realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G Review: Design and Build

Realme is one of those brands that always experiment with the colors and style of its smartphones. For the Narzo 80 Pro, the company offers three color options: Nitro Orange, Racing Green, and Speed Silver. I received the Racing Green version for review, which, while not a new shade, looks elegant and mature, appealing to both older and younger users. The Realme Narzo 80 Pro is 7.55 mm thick and weighs just 179 grams, making its slim and lightweight design more comfortable to use.
There’s a 6.7-inch curved screen on the front, which is reminiscent of the competing Edge 60 Fusion with a 6.67-inch curved P-OLED display. When it comes to the feel in the hand, the back of the smartphone is worth paying attention to. The realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G has a smooth, matte finish on the back that doesn’t collect fingerprints or smudges.

At the top, in the center, is a large circular camera module with cutouts arranged in a triangular formation. At the bottom, there is the realme logo in silver, and on the sides, there are concentric patterns that add a subtle touch to the simple design. The device is light, slim, and has gently rounded edges, making it comfortable to hold for long periods of time. The weight distribution is good, and one-handed operation is also possible.
The smartphone is IP68 and IP69 certified, which provides protection against dust and water jets. Although realme claims that the device meets MIL-STD 810H standards, this does not mean that it is damage-proof or that it can be used in extreme conditions.
Let’s talk about functionality now. realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G has well-placed and tactile buttons. It comes with various connectivity options too-
- Right edge- Volume rockers & Power Button
- Left Edge- Idle
- Bottom Edge- SIM tray, USB-C port & speaker grille
- Top edge- secondary speaker

In general, the design of realme Narzo 80 Pro can be called a mixture of practicality and good looks. In its price segment, realme is offering a decent build for the device.
Smartphone | Thickness | Weight |
realme Narzo 80 Pro | 7.55mm | 179 grams |
Moto Edge 60 Fusion | 8.25mm | 199 grams |
Vivo T4 5G | 7.89mm | 199 grams |
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G Review: Display

In the era of OTT consumption and professional gaming, the display has become a key element of every smartphone. The realme Narzo 80 Pro offers a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. The maximum resolution is 2392×1080 pixels.
The display supports refresh rates of up to 120Hz and offers three options for setting the refresh rate of the device. These options are ‘Standard’, which means a maximum of 60Hz, ‘High’, with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, and ‘Auto-select’, which selects the best rate to balance battery life and smooth performance.
I initially tested this by enabling the ‘High’ option. Even though I selected 120Hz, different apps ran at different refresh rates. For example, AI features in the gallery ran at 90Hz, YouTube also ran at 90Hz, and so on. While it didn’t always run at 120Hz, the ultra-smooth motion worked well with gameplay at 90 FPS.
Now let’s talk about brightness levels. The typical smartphone brightness is 600 nits, which can be increased to 800 nits, which is suitable for indoor use but makes the screen unreadable outdoors. HBM increases the brightness to 1400 nits, which improves the readability of the display outdoors.
The Narzo 80 Pro’s maximum brightness level is 4500 nits, which, with the mode enabled, makes the display ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. The display is vivid, detailed, and has good contrast and viewing angles. It supports 1 billion colors, making the viewing experience even richer.
The display supports an ultra-high touch sampling rate of 2500 Hz for lightning-fast response to inputs, while 3840 Hz PWM reduces eye strain during extended use, allowing you to game comfortably for hours. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.7%, which means ultra-slim bezels all around.
Smartphone | Display | Peak Brightness |
realme Narzo 80 Pro | 6.77-inch OLED Curved screen | 4500 nits |
Moto Edge 60 Fusion | 6.67-inch P-OLED Curved screen | 4500 nits |
Vivo T4 5G | 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED screen | 5000 nits |
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G Review: Speakers and Haptics
The Realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G comes with a dual speaker system, which means that one speaker is located at the top and the other at the bottom of the device. Both speakers provide a loud enough audio experience, but at maximum volume, the sound gets distorted. The device also supports the 200% Ultra Volume feature, which increases the volume artificially. While the sound while watching content may not be very immersive, the volume of the earpiece during calls is decent.
The smartphone offers customizable vibration, allowing users to adjust vibration settings for different interactions. The device’s software allows for personalized haptic feedback, and when you enable the Vibrate on touch option in the haptic settings, it feels more and is heard less.
Smartphone | Speaker setup | Haptics |
realme Narzo 80 Pro | Dual stereo setup | Customizable haptic feedback with software |
Moto Edge 60 Fusion | Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos | Tight and responsive haptics for refined tactile experience |
Vivo T4 5G | Single bottom firing mono speaker | Uses a basic rotor motor for haptic feedback |
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G Review: Software

In terms of software, the realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G runs on realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 out of the box. The company has promised two years of OS updates and three years of security patches for the smartphone, which may seem a bit low, but it’s okay at this price point. The device delivers a smooth and responsive user experience for its price range, and its smooth animations and transitions go a long way in improving usability.
The smartphone comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps. Some of them, like Amazon and Netflix, can be uninstalled, while others, like Game Center and Gemini, can only be removed. The lack of NFC doesn’t seem like a big drawback in the era of UPI digital payments. There are also various personalization options that let you change the look of app icons, themes, and customize the lock and home screens.
The brand has equipped the realme Narzo 80 Pro with Next AI capabilities that improve photo quality and efficiency. Features such as AI Image Enhancement, AI Erase 2.0, AI Motion Deblur, and AI Base Best Face make your photos better by eliminating unwanted people and objects and reducing their flaws.

AI features that boost efficiency include AI Recording Summary (for audio meeting minutes), Circle to Search (for searching for information on screen), AI Reply (for time-saving, auto-formatted replies), AI Writer, and AI Smart Loop 2.0. realme Narzo 80 Pro also offers a Smart sidebar for quick access to frequently used features. The biggest drawbacks of the software experience are the redundant apps and a few you can’t remove.
Smartphone | Pre-installed apps | Updates |
realme Narzo 80 Pro | Yes | 3 OS+4 security patches |
Moto Edge 60 Fusion | Minimal | 3 OS+ 4 security patches |
Vivo T4 5G | Yes | 2 OS+3 security patches |
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G Review: Biometrics

The realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G smartphone offers advanced biometric security features that ensure both privacy and convenience. The device supports an optical in-display fingerprint scanner that is fast and responsive, and its location further enhances the user experience.
Additionally, the smartphone supports facial recognition, allowing you to unlock your device using facial biometrics. It recognized my face in low light, but had trouble when I took off my glasses and tried to log in. Users can set a screen lock to numeric, alphanumeric, or pattern for added protection. Anti-theft protection and offline device lock are also available.
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G Review: Performance
The realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, which is based on the 4nm process technology. Paired with the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, it offers up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 internal memory. Additionally, it supports 12GB + 14GB dynamic RAM for faster and more efficient performance. I ran some performance tests on this device and here are the results.
Smartphone | Geekbench Multi-core | Geekbench single core | AnTuTu | CPU Throttling | Wildlife extreme |
realme Narzo 80 Pro | 2923 | 1038 | 724198 | 71% (30-minute) | 1027 |
Moto Edge 60 Fusion | 3050 | 1080 | 698,815 | 92% (15-minute) | 854 |
Vivo T4 5G | 3278 | 1164 | 794,279 | 100% (30-minute) | 1050 |

When it comes to gaming, the Narzo 80 Pro doesn’t disappoint at all. While this affordable device isn’t aimed at professional gamers, it does offer features like 90 FPS support and GT mode, which improve the gaming experience. While playing BGMI with HD + High graphics settings, the average frame rate was 28.8.
Meanwhile, in COD Mobile with Medium+ High settings, the FPS reached 54.1. These results were achieved after 30 minutes of gameplay. Thermal management is decent thanks to the 6050 mm² vapor chamber cooling system, as the only time the device got a little warm was when running back-to-back benchmarks; otherwise, gaming didn’t cause it to overheat.
In terms of everyday use, the smartphone can be an ideal companion for everyday use, as apps load and open quickly, and multitasking works smoothly. The overall fluidity can sometimes stutter, but it is acceptable. Overall, the performance of the realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G can be described as above average.
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G Review: Cameras
The realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G smartphone comes with a standard dual-camera setup on the back. The highlight is the 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS, an f/1.8 aperture, and a 26mm focal length. There is also a 2MP monochrome sensor alongside the main sensor.
Daylight Performance
In broad daylight, the main sensor can capture vivid and colorful photos, perfect for social media and keepsakes. The photos are detailed, and even when zoomed in, every detail is clearly visible. You can also take Live Photos, which is useful when you need short clips instead of a single shot.
The images taken by the Narzo 80 Pro are better exposed than those of the Edge 60 Fusion. Although the Edge 60 Fusion might offer a better color palette, its photos have more noise in the darker parts than the Narzo 80 Pro 5G. The level of sharpness in photos taken by this device is better than many of its competitors.

There are three options to click images with the sensor-1x, 2x, and 5x, but manually, one can click up to 20x digitally zoomed-in shots. The shots are good in 1x, 2x, and 5x modes, but further than this, they lose quality as well as detail. The main sensor supports OIS, which captures movable shots better, and color consistency is also decent.

2MP monochrome sensor also takes okayish close-up shots in daylight. An ultrawide sensor would have been better than this monochrome camera.

Portrait Mode
The portrait mode offers an adjustable focal length of up to 26mm and a zoom mode of up to 2x. The smartphone uses the main camera for portrait shots, capturing a good amount of facial details in both daylight and indoor lighting conditions.
Color reproduction is also decent; however, compared to the Edge 60 Fusion, this model captures more accurate skin tones in portrait mode. Edge detection and background blur also worked well in portrait mode, making the experience satisfying.

Lowlight Performance
Low-light shots pose a challenge for both the main and selfie cameras. With the dedicated Night mode enabled, the shots can look a bit better, but they’re often too soft, sometimes grainy, and have noise around the edges.
Still, when comparing the colors in the low-light shots, they fare better than the Edge 60 Fusion, which has washed-out tones and a blue tint. The darker the area captured in the shot, the more noise there is, which is to be expected on a device at this price. The images below better illustrate the low-light photography.

Selfie camera
On the front, the Narzo 80 Pro houses a 16MP selfie sensor with an 85-degree field of view, f/2.4 aperture, and a 4P lens. This sensor enhances the colors in the selfies you take. Facial details are captured well in selfies taken in daylight, and with the help of AI features, they can be improved significantly.
The selfies are sharp, detailed, and keep the subject in focus. The skin tone captured was not 100% natural, but still quite close to reality, and the color reproduction is decent. It is not the best selfie camera in this price range, but it cannot be considered the worst either.

Videography
The smartphone’s rear camera supports 4k videos at 30 fps, and a combination of OIS+ EIS makes videos stable and clearer. The front camera supports 1080p videos at 30 fps.
Special Filters and Modes
The portrait mode comes with 15 in-built filters that can make your photos insta-ready within seconds. Special modes for main sensor include Pro Mode, Panorama, Hi-Res mode, Film Mode, Slo-mo, Long exposure, Underwater, Night Mode, Street Mode and more.
Smartphone | Rear Camera setup | Front Camera |
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G | 50MP+2MP | 16MP |
Moto Edge 60 Fusion | 50MP+13MP | 32MP |
Vivo T4 5G | 50MP+2MP | 32MP |
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G Review: Battery Life and Charging
The trend of big batteries has also reached the budget segment. Despite its slim 7.55mm body, the realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G is equipped with a massive 6,000 mAh battery, thanks to silicon carbon. With light to moderate usage, including watching videos, browsing social media, talking, chatting, using the camera, reading, listening to music, and light gaming, the battery easily lasted the entire day with 18% charge remaining. However, for heavy users, it is necessary to charge it every 6 hours or so.
The smartphone supports 80W wired charging speeds via a USB-C adapter that comes in the box. The charger took around 47 minutes to charge the battery from 3% to 100%, which seems satisfactory. There are a number of settings you can enable to improve battery health, including Smart Charging and Charging Limit options.
Smartphone | Battery Capacity | Charging Speed |
realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G | 6000mAh | 80W SuperVOOC Charging |
Moto Edge 60 Fusion | 5500mAh | 68W Turbo Power Charging |
Vivo T4 5G | 7300mAh | 90W FlashCharge |
Review Verdict: Should You Buy the realme Narzo 80 Pro?
The realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G smartphone has its strengths and weaknesses, just like any other budget smartphone. It offers great performance, long battery life, a curved AMOLED display, and a decent 50MP camera. However, it lacks an ultra-wide lens, NFC, and a headphone jack, along with limited OS updates and HDR support. The phone will be best suited for students, casual users, and content creators who need an affordable device for everyday use. At a starting price of INR 19,999, the realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G is a great option in the mid-range smartphone segment.
