realme has officially introduced the realme Neo8 in China. The phone went on sale on January 23, 2026 through realme’s official store, JD.com, and other platforms, with an introductory price of ¥2,399 for the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant. The regular price for the same configuration is listed at ¥2,599.

realme Neo8 Specifications

The Neo8 features a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel using Samsung’s M14 LTPS technology. It offers a 1.5K resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate, and very high brightness figures, with realme claiming up to 6,500 nits peak brightness and 1,800 nits global peak brightness. The display is protected by Crystal Armor Glass and supports a 3,800 Hz touch sampling rate.

Under the hood, it features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, built on a 3 nm process. The phone pairs LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 9,600 Mbps with UFS 4.1 storage. To manage heat, realme has added a large 7,000 mm² vapor chamber cooling system.

On the camera side, the Neo8 uses a triple rear setup. This includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS using the Sony IMX896 sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera based on the JN5 sensor with 3.5X optical zoom. The front camera is a 16 MP Sony IMX480 sensor.

Battery capacity is one of the phone’s main talking points. The Neo8 packs an 8,000 mAh battery, which is among the largest seen in this segment. It supports 80W wired fast charging and also works with multiple third-party charging standards, including UFCS, PPS, PD, and QC at lower wattages.

Software-wise, the phone runs Android 16 with realme UI 7.0 out of the box. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an IR blaster, and a Sky Signal Chip S1 for improved reception. It also includes RGB halo lighting on the back for notifications and gaming effects, along with a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

Despite the large battery, the Neo8 measures 8.3 mm in thickness and weighs 215 grams. It features IP68, IP69, and IP66 ratings, covering dust protection and resistance to high-pressure water.

The realme Neo8 is currently exclusive to China. There is no official word on an India or global launch, though past Neo-series devices have appeared in other markets under different names. If that pattern holds, a regional variant could surface later in 2026.
