The mid-range smartphone market in 2025 is a battlefield. Manufacturers are cramming flagship-tier features into affordable devices, blurring the lines between “budget” and “premium.” This is where Realme steps in with the P3 Pro – a phone that promises style, endurance, and performance without breaking the bank.

The realme P series is built around gaming, and the P3 Pro fits this mold perfectly. It boasts a massive 6,000mAh battery, a light-sensitive color-shifting back panel, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, and a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). On paper, it’s a compelling package, especially in the sub-Rs 25,000 market. But specs alone don’t tell the whole story.

Can this phone keep pace with the competition? Does it deliver a truly premium experience in its class? Let’s find the answers in our review.

    realme P3 Pro Review: Unboxing

The realme P3 Pro comes in a typical Realme cardboard box with clear brandings on it. The cover displays the name of the phone in both text. Upon opening the box, the phone is revealed, looking quite premium. The phone boasts a polycarbonate construction. Inside the box, you’ll find a Type-C to Type-C cable, Ultra fast charger, a silicon case, and some documentation.

realme P3 Pro Review: Design & Build

The realme P3 Pro adopts a contemporary design language, balancing aesthetics and ergonomics. While it doesn’t necessarily break new ground, it presents a polished and refined look that feels modern, echoing the design of the realme 14 Pro series.

    realme P3 Pro

The high-quality polycarbonate (plastic) back panel immediately draws the eye with its light-sensitive pattern, which reacts to UV light, particularly on the Nebula Green color variant. Despite its large size, the phone is surprisingly slim (7.99mm) and lightweight (193 grams), making it comfortable to hold. To further reduce weight, Realme opted for a plastic mid-frame, which should easily withstand occasional drops and dings. The circular camera module, accented by a glossy ring, features a triangular lens arrangement with a circular flash, adding a touch of sophistication.

The front of the phone features a gorgeous, gracefully curved display. This is Realme’s first budget smartphone to feature a quad-curved display that seamlessly blends with the outer frame. Combined with symmetrical bezels, this design creates an almost bezel-less appearance, maximizing screen real estate and providing a premium look and feel.

    realme P3 Pro

realme has kept the button placement standard, with both the volume rockers and the power button located on the right side. The tactile feedback of the buttons is excellent, providing a satisfying click with each press.

Overall, the realme P3 Pro’s design succeeds as a conversation starter, leveraging innovative design cues.

    realme P3 Pro Review: Display

The display on the realme P3 Pro 5G is undoubtedly one of its standout features. The 6.83-inch Quad-Curved EdgeFlow AMOLED panel is gorgeous, curving gracefully at the edges to create an immersive, almost bezel-less design. The 1.5K resolution (2800×1472) ensures everything looks crisp and sharp, and the colors are incredibly vibrant thanks to the 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.

    realme P3 Pro

Scrolling through social media or playing games is buttery smooth due to the 120Hz refresh rate, and the 240Hz touch sampling rate (with an instant peak of 2500Hz) makes the screen feel incredibly responsive. For phone users who spend significant time on their devices, realme has included 3,840Hz PWM dimming on the P3 Pro, which is a lifesaver – effectively reducing eye strain. Furthermore, the display supports HDR10+ content, allowing you to enjoy compatible movies and shows with superior dynamic range and more lifelike visuals.

The realme P3 Pro’s display is also practical, boasting a peak brightness of 1500 nits, making it easily viewable even under direct sunlight. To protect this gorgeous display, realme uses Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i, providing comprehensive protection from scratches and accidental drops.

realme P3 Pro Review: Speakers and Haptics

    realme P3 Pro

The realme P3 Pro boasts dual speakers – one nestled on the bottom and another at the top – and they deliver impressive sound. Even at maximum volume, the audio remains remarkably clear, with distinct vocals and well-defined instruments. The sound separation is truly appreciable. It’s not just about the sound; the phone’s haptics are also top-notch. They’re finely tuned using the now industry-standard OHaptics system, giving you precise, satisfying feedback with every tap and swipe.

    realme P3 Pro Review: Software

The realme P3 Pro runs on the latest realme UI 6.0, realme’s custom Android skin built on top of Android 15. This build, a derivative of ColorOS, has matured significantly in recent years. The new UI adds a plethora of useful features, ranging from productivity enhancements to AI capabilities.

The most striking aspect of realme UI is its modern, upscale aesthetic. The icons are well-designed, the animations are fluid, and the overall layout is intuitive and easy to navigate.

Beyond its visual appeal, realme UI 6.0 offers extensive customization options, as expected from a ColorOS derivative. You can personalize almost every aspect of the interface, from wallpapers and font styles to the color scheme.

realme UI 6.0 boasts a range of useful features, including a system-wide dark mode, a customizable always-on display, and a smart sidebar that provides quick access to frequently used apps. One persistent issue with realme UI is its bloatware. The P3 Pro comes with several pre-installed apps that some users may find unnecessary. Thankfully, most of these apps can be uninstalled, giving you more control over your device.

One of the standout features of realme UI 6.0 is its AI integration. The AI Studio app allows users to create AI-generated images and portraits, while the AI Smart Loop suggests apps for sharing files and images. The UI also includes AI-powered features for summarizing recordings and web articles and translating on-screen content.

    realme P3 Pro Review: Performance

Performance is a key consideration for any smartphone, and the realme P3 Pro 5G doesn’t disappoint. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, this octa-core processor, with its blend of high-performance and power-efficient cores, delivers a smooth experience across a wide range of tasks. While this phone feels incredibly snappy and responsive in everyday use, its strengths truly shine in specific areas.

    • realme P3 Pro geekbench
    • realme P3 Pro antutu
    • realme P3 Pro wild life stress test

In synthetic benchmarks, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 performs well, though it still trails some competitors. realme claims an AnTuTu score of over 800,000 points, which we achieved in our internal tests. The phone scored 835,971 points on the AnTuTu V10 test, while Geekbench 6 scores were 1195 for single-core and 3278 for multi-core.

The P3 Pro 5G is designed for gamers, and this is evident in the gaming test results. The phone supports 90FPS in BGMI, 120FPS in MLBB, and 90FPS in Free Fire. In our extended gaming sessions, the phone performed admirably, with consistently smooth frame rates and no lag. This was primarily thanks to realme’s “GT Boost mode,” co-developed with professional eSports players. This mode incorporates features like AI Ultra-Steady Frames, Hyper Response Engine, AI Power Saving, and Smart Dual-Channel Network to further enhance the gaming experience.

    realme P3 Pro Review: Cameras

    realme P3 Pro

While realme has a strong track record of delivering smartphones with impressive cameras, the P series has historically received less attention in this area. That changes somewhat with the P3 Pro 5G. The phone features a primary 50MP Sony IMX896 camera alongside a 2MP secondary camera. The primary camera handles the bulk of the imaging, and the absence of an ultra-wide camera is a curious decision.

The 50MP Sony IMX896 primary sensor is the star of the show. It captures detailed and vibrant images in various lighting conditions, thanks to its large sensor size and wide f/1.8 aperture. The sensor captures images with near-accurate colors, a wide dynamic range, and good sharpness.

Performance is notably better in bright conditions but diminishes in challenging lighting situations. While the camera produces images suitable for social media, it falls short of the competition. On the front, the P3 Pro features a 16MP selfie camera. This sensor captures detailed and well-lit selfies, even in challenging lighting.

Because the phone has an IP rating, realme has added a new Underwater Mode, which, as the name suggests, helps you capture breathtaking underwater images. The phone also includes several AI features that enhance the camera experience.

realme P3 Pro Review: Battery Life and Charging

The realme P3 Pro excels in the battery department, packing a large 6,000mAh battery. This new chemistry cell boasts performance numbers on par with the competition. In our tests, we achieved a full day’s worth of use with heavy usage. Users with less demanding usage patterns could even expect close to two days of battery life on a single charge.

The P3 Pro supports realme’s 80W Ultra fast charging technology. With the included charger, you can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in less than 50 minutes.

Verdict: Should You Buy the realme P3 Pro?

The realme P3 Pro is a strong contender in the crowded mid-range market. It delivers on its promises of style, long battery life, and solid performance, particularly for gamers. While the camera system could be more versatile, the overall package offers excellent value for the price, making it a worthy consideration for budget-conscious buyers seeking a near-flagship experience.
