realme 16 Pro & realme 16 Pro Plus: Key Features

The headline act is undoubtedly the realme 16 Pro Plus, a device that challenges the industry’s obsession with ultra-thin frames at the cost of battery life. In a move that appears to be a direct response to power users, Realme managed to fit a 7,000mAh Titan Battery into the 16 Pro Plus. What’s more impressive is that the phone remains just 8.49mm thick, roughly the same as many phones with much smaller cells.

To address concerns about long-term degradation, the phone uses an AI battery management chip that Realme claims will keep the battery at 80% health even after five years of daily use. Photography remains a core pillar for the brand. The realme 16 Pro Plus introduces a 200MP Portrait Master system built around the Samsung HP5 sensor.

Their new LumaColor tech, co-developed with TÜV Rheinland, aims to achieve more realistic skin tones by testing against a wider range of lighting conditions than the industry standard. This is paired with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens that offers 3.5x optical zoom, a rarity in this price bracket.

The standard realme 16 Pro offers a similar experience at a lower price point, replacing the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the Plus model with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max chipset. It retains the massive 7,000mAh battery and the 200MP main camera but omits the periscope lens in favor of an 8MP ultra-wide. It is also notably thinner at just 7.75mm, making it one of the slimmest phones on the market to carry a battery of that capacity.

Beyond the pocket, Realme is making a serious push into the tablet market with the realme Pad 3. Positioned as a tool for students, it features an 11.6-inch 2.8K display with a 7:5 aspect ratio. This shape is designed to match the dimensions of A4 paper, making it more natural for reading textbooks and taking notes. It also carries a gargantuan 12,200mAh battery, ensuring it can last through a full day of classes and evening study sessions without needing a wall outlet.

The ecosystem is rounded out by the realme Buds Air 8, which continues the brand’s collaboration with industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. The earbuds feature a dual-driver setup and offer 55dB of Ultra Depth active noise cancellation. With a total playback time of 70 hours when paired with the charging case, they are designed to match the new phones’ longevity.
