TL; DR
- realme’s Ultra Flagship is coming to MWC 2025, promising DSLR-level photography and advanced zoom.
- The design looks a lot like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is also launching at MWC.
- Francis Wong hinted at a launch, but it’s unclear if it’s a retail device or just a showcase.
realme has teased an Ultra Flagship smartphone set to be unveiled at MWC 2025 (March 3-6, Barcelona), but it’s unclear whether this will be a concept or a full launch. The device, teased with the tagline “Ultra Clarity Beyond Flagship,” promises DSLR-level smartphone photography with an emphasis on zoom and sensor size.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra Similarities & Leica Connection

The design closely resembles the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is also launching at MWC 2025. Both feature a dual-tone finish, a circular camera module, and similar color schemes. Xiaomi’s design choice celebrates Leica’s 100-year anniversary, but realme’s device appears to be taking strong inspiration from it. If you squint, the designs are almost identical.

Camera & Zoom Capabilities

The teaser hints at a 1-inch primary sensor, positioned centrally within a large circular module, similar to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept. It also appears to support 10X to what possibly seems like 120X zoom. However, the teaser video was low resolution, making finer details difficult to confirm.
In Chase’s words, realme will be unveiling “game-changing photography innovation,” which makes me believe that this is going to be something beyond the lenses and the sensors, perhaps borrowing some of the features from actual DSLRs and mirrorless.

A Launch or Just a Showcase
Francis Wong (head of product marketing, realme) teased the announcement, saying “I’m going to launch It very soon in MWC,” without confirming if it’s a retail device. Chase Xu showcased camera samples comparing the phone to other flagships, claiming that realme’s shots are beyond flagship.

If it’s indeed a retail device, it could be called the realme GT 7 Ultra, but no official name has been confirmed. If realme delivers on its claims, this could be one of 2025’s biggest photography game-changers (from realme).
