The Chinese consumer tech giant Redmi has launched an affordable yet feature-loaded tablet in India: the Redmi Pad 2. At Rs. 13,999, the tablet offers a 90Hz display, quad-speaker setup for immersive multimedia consumption, supports a dedicated stylus called Redmi Smart Pen, and runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2. The tablet is available in blue and gray colors.

For its price, the Redmi Pad 2 has a decent 11-inch 10-bit screen with a 2.5K resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The panel can also achieve 600 nits of peak brightness and has TUV Rheinland certifications for wet touch technology and eye protection.

Despite being an affordable tablet, the Pad 2 also has a dedicated Smart Pen accessory, which costs Rs. 3,299. Complementing the screen is a quad-speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos.

Under the hood, the Redmi Pad 2 features the MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra chipset, which comprises two 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 balanced cores. The processor is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Out of the box, the tablet runs on HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15, which brings several refinements and new features over HyperOS, along with AI-based features like Google’s Circle To Search and Gemini voice assistant. Regarding optics, the device gets an 8MP (f/2.0) back camera and a 5MP (f/2.2) selfie camera.

Powering the Redmi Pad 2 is a massive 9,000 mAh battery that supports 18W wired charging. It is worth noting that the device’s mid and top model offers LTE (4G) connectivity, while the others offer Wi-Fi 802.11 (dual-band) and Bluetooth v5.3 (A2DP, LE), GPS, a USB-C OTG port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
