Reliance JioBook laptop may be priced around Rs 15,000; A quick overview of leaked specs

The launch of Reliance’s first laptop i.e. JioBook is imminent as it has been making headlines for quite a long time. The company has also displayed JioBook at the launch of India’s 5G mobile network connectivity. While the 5G announcement took centre stage during the event, Reliance also showed the JioBook laptop along with confirming the images and other key features.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 series processor will power the JioBook laptop and an integrated 4G SIM card will cater for the need for connectivity. The key highlighting revelation that comes from Reuters suggests JioBook laptop be priced roughly at Rs 15,000 making it more affordable than Chromebooks.

JioBook will support select apps and be powered by a Snapdragon SoC thanks to Reliance Jio’s collaboration with Qualcomm and Microsoft. Also, a demo booth at the IMC 2022 reveals JioBook to pack a Snapdragon 665 processor.

For additional information, JioBook is said to feature an 11.6-inch display, up to 13 hours of battery life, and an embedded web camera. It is expected to boot on JioOS for downloading and installing apps from JioStore. We can receive more information about the JioBook in the coming days.

Reuters also reported that the JioBooklaptop will be made initially available to educational institutions and government agencies by the end of this month. We can expect a general launch of this economical laptop by the end of 2022. A contract manufacturer Flex will produce the Reliance JioBook laptop locally, and Jio plans to sell hundreds of thousands of devices by March 2023.
