If you’re in the market for a ‘flagship killer’ smartphone under Rs. 50,000, you have quite a lot of choices. The most recent launches in the segment, the Oppo Reno 13 Pro and the OnePlus 13R, are two very capable smartphones. However, each offers some benefits over the other. Before purchasing either of the smartphones, go through this detailed comparison to make an informed decision.

Reno 13 Pro vs. OnePlus 13R: Design

Dimensions And Weight

  • Reno 13 Pro: 162.8 x 76.6 x 7.6 mm; 195 or 197 grams
  • OnePlus 13R: 161.7 x 75.8 x 8 mm; 206 grams

Between the Reno 13 Pro and the OnePlus 13R, the former is slightly thinner and lighter than the latter.

Design

In terms of design, both the phones feature symmetrical bezels and a punch-hole screen (giving them a contemporary look). However, the key differentiators are the camera module on the rear panel and colors.

While the Reno 13 Pro has a rectangular camera island on the back panel, the OnePlus 13R features a circular camera cutout (much like its flagship sibling). Even so, both smartphones feature an aluminum frame, glass back, and Gorilla Gass 7i protection.

Reno 13 Pro vs. OnePlus 13R: Display

Further, the screen has a pixel density of 450 ppi, with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8%. Last but not least, the phone features Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

In comparison, the OnePlus 13 ships with a slightly smaller 6.78-inch screen display that supports 120Hz of maximum refresh rate (with LTPO 4.1 technology) and 1,600 nits of global peak brightness. Reno 13 Pro vs. OnePlus 13R: Performance

Dimensity 8350

Under its shiny exterior, the Reno 13 Pro features the MediaTek Dimensity 8350, which is based on 4nm fabrication technology. The chipset features one 3.35GHz prime core, three 3.20GHz performance cores, and four 2.20GHz efficient cores. Alongside the capable CPU, the chipset features Mali G615-MC6, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In our review of the Oppo Reno 13 Pro, we’ve mentioned how the phone scores 1.1 million points on the AnTuTu 10 and 1,321/4,071 points in the single/multi-core GeekBench 6 benchmark tests. Even though the Dimensity 8350 (4nm) is a quite capable processor, it can’t match the raw processing prowess offered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the OnePlus 13R.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

Yes, the OnePlus 13R sports the popular Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4nm) chipset, which features one 3.3GHz prime core, three 3.2GHz performance cores, two 3.0GHz performance cores, and two 2.3GHz efficient cores. Alongside the CPU, the chipset consists of the Adreno 750 GPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Note: The UFS 4.0 storage offers 2x the performance of UFS 3.1 while consuming about 46% less power.

In our review of the OnePlus 13R, the smartphone scored around 1.7 million AnTuTu 10 and 2.194/6,551 points in the single/multi-core GeekBench 6 benchmark tests. The chipset can also run the popular battle royale video game BGMI at 120 frames per second. If performance is a priority for you, consider investing in the OnePlus 13R.

Reno 13 Pro Price

OnePlus 13R Price

Given that the OnePlus 13R offers a brighter screen, a more powerful processor, better software support, and 512GB of storage for Rs. 49,999, it makes sense to invest in the smartphone, especially since the similarly-priced Reno 13 Pro offers 256GB of storage.

However, those who are looking for a bigger screen, a better front camera, a higher IP rating (which protects the phone against damage from moisture), and a better periscope camera can go with the Oppo Reno 13 Pro.
