TL; DR
- Google first added AirDrop-style sharing to Quick Share on Pixel 10, later expanding it to Pixel 9 series.
- Samsung is now bringing the same feature to the Galaxy S26 series, starting with Korea from March 23.
- The rollout will expand globally, with support for more Galaxy and Android devices expected later.
With the Pixel 10 series, Quick Share started supporting AirDrop-style file transfers. That later expanded to the Pixel 9 series as well. The idea was simplRe, you could share files directly with iPhones using native AirDrop, without installing anything extra.
All you had to do was enable the “Everyone” option in AirDrop on the iPhone, which stays active for 10 minutes, and then the transfer works like a normal AirDrop transfer. Now Samsung is doing the same with the Galaxy S26 series.
Galaxy S26 Series Gets AirDrop Support

With the Galaxy S26 series now available for a couple of weeks now, Samsung has added AirDrop compatibility through Quick Share. This means it is now much easier to send files between Galaxy devices and Apple devices.
The feature is already live in Korea as of March 23, and it will expand to regions including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. There is no confirmation for India yet.
At launch, it is limited to the Galaxy S26 series, but Samsung has confirmed that more Galaxy devices will get this later.

Quick Share Is Now Much More Flexible
Quick Share was already doing a lot. You could share files using QR codes, generate links, and send up to 10 GB per day. It also works across Android devices and even Windows with Quick Share for Windows. There is also Private Share for more controlled file access.
Now with AirDrop support added, it covers iPhones, iPads, and Macs as well. That means you can now share files across almost every major platform using one system.

File Sharing Has Never Been Easier
Samsung is starting with the Galaxy S26 series, but older devices like the Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold series, and even some A-series phones are expected to get this later.
Other Android brands are also moving in the same direction. OPPO has already confirmed that it will bring similar support to the Find X9 series in March 2026, and more brands like vivo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi are expected to follow.

At this point, millions of Galaxy and iPhone devices will be able to share files directly without needing any extra apps, which makes everyday file sharing much simpler across ecosystems.
