TL;DR
- 6,000mAh battery outlasts most premium flagship phones.
- Six years of updates for ₹15,999 price.
- Features a 120Hz display and Android 16.
Samsung just launched the Galaxy A07 5G in India, and it’s a clear sign that the company is shifting its budget strategy. While high-end flagships like the upcoming S26 Ultra often focus on peak performance and AI tricks, the A07 5G is doubling down on the two things budget buyers actually care about: battery life and longevity.
Starting at ₹15,999, the Galaxy A07 5G succeeds last year’s A06. On paper, it looks like a modest refresh, but two specific upgrades make it a standout in a crowded market.
6,000mAh: The New Budget Standard?
The headline feature is the 6,000mAh battery. This is a 20% jump from the 5,000mAh cell in the Galaxy A06 and, as the headline suggests, it’s physically larger than the batteries expected in Samsung’s most expensive 2026 flagships.
Samsung claims the phone is optimized for “uninterrupted performance,” which in simple words means most users will easily get two full days of use. The trade-off? It still charges at 25W. In an era where brands like Realme and Poco are pushing 45W or even 60W in this price bracket, a full charge on the A07 5G will likely take closer to two hours.
A Seven-Year Commitment
Perhaps more impressive than the battery is the software. The Galaxy A07 5G ships with Android 16 (One UI 8.0) and comes with a promise of six years of OS and security updates.
In the sub-₹20,000 segment, most phones are lucky to get two major updates. By promising support until 2032, Samsung is positioning the A07 not just as a cheap phone but as a long-term investment. This is bolstered by the inclusion of Samsung Knox Vault, a dedicated security chip usually reserved for more expensive models that protects your biometric data and passwords from hardware-level attacks.
The Budget Compromises
To hit this price point while offering flagship-level software support, Samsung had to make cuts elsewhere:
You get a 6.7-inch LCD with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, but the resolution is still HD+ (720p). At this size, the lack of sharpness is noticeable compared to the Full HD+ screens found on the Moto G64 or Redmi 13 5G.
It uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300. It’s a reliable chip for social media, YouTube, and light gaming, but it isn’t designed for heavy video editing or high-end mobile gaming.
The camera hardware is identical to the A06—a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. It should take good photos in daylight, but don’t expect a revolution in low-light photography.

Samsung Galaxy A07 5G Price and Availability
Samsung is leaning heavily into affordability for this launch, offering an “instant gratification” discount rather than long-term cashbacks. Buyers can get a flat ₹1,000 discount if you use credit or debit cards from SBI, HDFC, or Axis Bank. In a move to capture the digital-first crowd, the same ₹1,000 discount is also applicable on payments made via UPI (through Samsung’s official store and select partners).
Samsung is also offering up to 18 months of No-Cost EMI through partners like Bajaj Finserv and other leading NBFCs. On the base model, this brings the effective monthly ownership cost down to roughly ₹833 per month. During the launch week, users can often bundle Samsung Care+ (which covers accidental and liquid damage) at a discounted rate (usually around ₹699–₹999), though this varies by retailer.
