Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) With Quad Rear Cameras Lands In India

Much hyped Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 is now official in India. The A9 2018 has been in the news for its unique quad-rear camera setup which Samsung first launched in Malaysia last month. With the Galaxy A9 2018, Samsung is trying to rejig its mid-range portfolio with Galaxy A series trying to take the competition head-on.

Samsung A9 (2018) Features

Talking about the phone itself, Samsung has given it a fresh look on the lines of in trend gradient design. The phone boasts an all-glass front and back with 2.5D curved glass. The metal seems to add strength to the phone. 

The Galaxy A9 (2018) features a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. Samsung has sourced an octa-core Snapdragon 660 chipset for this new A-series poster boy. In India, the Galaxy A9 (2018) is offered in 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The 8GB RAM variant will only be available in some markets, and we are not sure yet if India is one of them. The company is offering it only 128GB of internal storage option this time. However, it comes with support for microSD card up to 512GB.

Samsung Galaxy A9 2018: World’s First Four Rear Cameras Phone

The unique Galaxy A9 four-camera system packs a 24MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP 120-degree ultra wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, a 10MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 5MP depth sensor.

The phone includes a fingerprint sensor for much secure biometric authentication and a Face Unlock feature. Samsung has fitted a 3,800mAh battery right inside the exterior shell. As for connectivity, the phone supports Dual SIM Dual VoLTE out of the box, a USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The phone runs on the Samsung Experience UI based Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and likes to get Android Pie update in the days to come. For payments, it supports Samsung Pay.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) Price in India

The Galaxy A9 (2018) price in India is Rs 36,999 for the 6GB variant which puts it right in the OnePlus 6T dominated ally. The 8GB variant of the Galaxy A9 has been priced at Rs.39,990. The phone will retail online at Samsung E-store, Flipkart, Paytm and Amazon from November 28.
