Ever since the launch of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S24 Series has been confirmed, there have been reports about how Samsung will bring AI in the true sense to its S24 devices. Samsung itself had hinted about how ‘Galaxy AI’ would take centerstage during the launch event and the brand did stand true to its words. The brand has integrated various artificial intelligence capabilities across various facets of the devices. Samsung launched its language model Gauss AI in 2023 which first hinted about AI coming to Galaxy devices. Recently, the brand also shared the teaser for the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event that highlights Galaxy AI as the focal point.

The Samsung Galaxy AI featured S24 Series is up for pre-order at Rs. 1999 in India at the moment.

Although possibilities are limitless, for now, Samsung has highlighted these 6 major Galaxy AI features for Samsung Galaxy S24 Series smartphones-

1. AI Live Translate Call

This feature allows real-time audio and text translations during phone calls made through Samsung’s calling application. Translations occur privately and thus are very different from cloud-based solutions. All you have to do is tap on call assist while you are answering a call and then tap on the ‘Live Translate’ option. The call will then be translated into the language of your choice and be live-captioned. This comes in handy when you and the person on the other end speak different languages. This AI feature will ensure you don’t feel a language barrier and can communicate seamlessly. One of the focus of this feature is also offering enhanced privacy. It is a two-way feature and is available in 13 languages. The feature works on every kind of phone, even a landline. It also acts as your Personal interpreter when you are in a new city and don’t know the native language too well.

Magic Compose will help you choose which type of tone you want to use for your message. You can even turn your photos into stickers using Google photomoji.

2. Video AI Editing

This is similar to the Pixel 8 Series magic editor, as now you can download any image from the internet and modify it according to your needs. You can also edit any image that is lying in your gallery. All you have to do is tap or draw around the object you want to move or delete, perform the desired function, and tap of ‘Generate’ option. Galaxy AI will edit the image so seamlessly that you won’t find any traces of how it was like before.

3. AI Slo-motions videos

Viewing any video in slow motion has become easier. All you have to do is play the video on your device and long press slightly on the right side of the screen while the video is playing, this will take the video into slow-motion mode and it will play slower than usual.

4. AI Zoom

Have you taken a photo and want the person in the frame to be the sole focus? This can be done by using Galaxy AI’s zoom capability wherein after clicking a picture in zoom mode, you can open the edit menu and tap on ‘Background Blur’ to ensure that the person in the frame is the only focus with everything in the background being blurred. You can also manage the level of blur you want to apply (1-7).

5. Tone Tweak

Tone Tweak not only allows you to translate the message you want to send to other languages but also offers suggestions to make the message better. Type a message, copy it, and select the ‘Translate’ option. Paste it in the sender’s chat window and choose ‘Writing Style’, As soon as you do that, Galaxy AI will fluff up your message and offer suggestions in various tones like Casual, Professional, Social, Polite, Emojify, and others. Choose the tone you want to use tap to send a message. Tone Tweak allows users to send perfect messages in different languages and to different people (depending on their position in the user’s life).

6. Voice Note

With Galaxy AI’s Voice Note feature, holding a meeting without having a person draft its minutes is now possible. All you have to do is start the audio recording in Voice Meeting mode and it will transcript the words of every speaker in the meeting as they speak. At the end of the meeting, you can summarize whatever was discussed and then share the file as a voice or text file. It is like a human taking minutes of your meeting. The Speech-to-text capability is now available in different languages in Note Assist so that there are no boundaries while communicating. If there are detailed notes, Galaxy AI can summarize them to be shared as text or image messages.

7. Circle to Search

Samsung in association with Google has announced a new way to search. Google Cloud and Gemini models will unlock new possibilities on Samsung devices. The Circle to Search feature can also be called Search any image, video, or text on your screen. All you have to do is circle highlight, scribble, or tap to pinpoint what you are curious about. You don’t need screenshots or have to switch to other apps to learn more about it. This means you can long-press the home button to wake the circle to search and find whatever you are looking for right there, right then. When you are done, you can swipe away to return to work. It will be available across the entire Galaxy S24 Series.

8. Android Auto

Android Auto will offer the safest possible experience while you are driving. You can keep in touch without losing focus on the road. It summarizes messages and drafts possible replies as well without having you touch your phone. One UI will be accessible on your dashboard display.

This is just the beginning as Samsung will explore Galaxy AI even further in the coming months. With Galaxy AI, Samsung aims to give a tough fight to competitors like Apple and Google as some of the Galaxy AI features are not available on iPhone or Pixel smartphones as of now.
