Samsung Galaxy S22 series in India got its OneUI 5.0 iteration a few days ago. Samsung has been updating its phones with the latest custom UI left and right. After Galaxy F22 got the Android 13-backed OneUI 5.0 update, Galaxy F23 is getting the update as well.

Bearing firmware version E236BXXU1BVL1, the update carries a download size of 2.7GB available for F23 users in India. It has a November 2022 security patch and not the latest December 2022. The latter will be released in Q1 2023 as per F23’s quarterly update schedule.

You can grab onto the update via Settings >> Software Updates. Once the update is detected, you can connect to the internet, download it and install the same. Note that if you haven’t received the update at the time of reading this, the reason is Samsung rolling out the update in phases. Your phone will get the update soon although the exact date and time aren’t available given the fact that it is a country-level rollout.

Things You Should Know Before Updating OS

These are some obvious but must-know things that you should keep a tab on whenever you are trying to update the OS on your device. For instance, Galaxy F23 to Android 13-powered OneUI 5.0 here.

  • First, ensure that your phone is charged. Although a 50% charge is enough for the download and install process, keeping the phone fully charged will back your device in case the update takes long or it gets stuck.
  • The download size is 2.7GB in this case which means you should be connected to Wi-Fi unless you have a truly unlimited data pack on your phone.
  • During the download, the phone is available for calls, texts, and normal functions. However, once it starts installing the update, you might be asked to wait for a few minutes till the process take care of itself.
