Samsung Galaxy Fold India Launch Details Surfaces Amidst All Display Concerns

At a time when the Galaxy Fold is in the news with concerns over display durability, fresh reports have emerged suggesting possible India launch on next month. BGR India based on its sources claims that Galaxy Fold India launch will take place in the second half of the May 2019.

If you recall, at the time of Galaxy S10 series launch in India, DJ Koh, President and CEO of Samsung confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be launched to India soon. Of late, Samsung India has been in a launch spree and has announced almost a dozen smartphones across price segments in 2019 so far. Samsung India CMO and SVP, Ranjivjit Singh has already confirmed the Galaxy A80 launch in India month of May. It is possible that Samsung announced both Galaxy Fold and Galaxy A80 smartphones from the same stage.

Samsung has been actively advertising its Galaxy Fold and started pre-booking in the United States. The Galaxy Fold is Samsung’s first attempt in foldable phones. It comes with two displays – one on the outside, and the other inside. The premium smartphone can be called a smartphone-cum-tablet and is being offered for a hefty price tag. In Us, the Galaxy Fold is retailing at $1,980 dollars, which translates to approx. Rs 1.41 lakh.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Specs and Features

As highlighted above, the Galaxy Fold features a dual display. The outside one is a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The one in between the two flaps is a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 4.2:3. The South Korean giant prefers to call it as Infinity Flex Display.

Rest of the Galaxy Fold specs-sheets also makes an exciting read. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855SoC coupled with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage. As for photography is packed a total of 6 cameras – three on ether sides. DxO mark recently reviewed the Galaxy Fold cameras and ranked number one alongside the Huawei P30.
