TL; DR
  • Samsung launches Galaxy M17e 5G in India, starting at Rs. 12,999 with three variants.
  • It features a 6.7-inch 120Hz LCD, Dimensity 6300 chipset, and a 6,000 mAh battery.
  • The phone runs Android 16 with One UI 8.0 and promises six years of OS updates.

The Korean tech giant Samsung has revealed yet another entry-level 5G smartphone in the country. Although it maintains a relatively affordable price, it offers a 120Hz display, a capable chipset, a 50MP primary camera, and a battery that should easily last a day of heavy usage. Without wasting any time, let’s discuss all the aspects of the Galaxy M17e 5G.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Price & Availability

The Galaxy M17e 5G is available in three different memory and storage options.

  • Galaxy M17e 5G (4GB + 128GB): Rs. 12,999
  • Galaxy M17e 5G (6GB + 128GB): Not Available
  • Galaxy M17e 5G (8GB + 128GB): Not Available

There seems to be some confusion about the smartphone’s pricing. While the baseline variant is available on Amazon for Rs. 11,749, the 6GB + 128GB version is available for Rs. 13,249.

It is available in Vibe Violet and Blitz Blue colors. You can purchase the smartphone from 12 PM on March 17, 2026, via Amazon India.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Key Features & Specifications

First and foremost, the Galaxy M17e 5G features a 6.7-inch HD+ Infinity-U LCD screen (not AMOLED) with a 120Hz refresh rate (not 60Hz). Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Dimensity 6300 (6nm) chipset with two 2.4 GHz performance cores, the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, and up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD card).

For some reason, the phone comes with 4GB of RAM on the most affordable trim, which, in my opinion, might not provide the best experience. However, the storage, even from the base variant, is 128GB. Further, I could not find any 8GB RAM variant listed on Amazon at the time of writing this article.

Out of the box, the handset runs on One Ui 8.0 based on Android 16. Samsung also promises to provide six generations of major operating system updates, along with six years of security updates. This is one aspect where other phones in the segment don’t bother the Galaxy M17e.

Regarding optics, the phone has a 50MP (f/1.8) primary camera, a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor, and an 8MP front camera. Powering the handset is a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging and should easily outlast an average day of light to moderate usage.

Connectivity options on the handset include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS + GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
