Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Realme 5 Pro, Realme 5, Mi A3 to launch in India this week: Here’s what to expect

The Indian smartphone market is set to have a busy next week. From Korean giant Samsung to Xiaomi and from Realme to Motorola everyone is gearing up for their new smartphones phones in launches in India. Samsung and Realme will be starting the week with their Galaxy Note 10 family and Realme 5 family on 20 August. Current market leader Xiaomi will be introducing their Android One smartphone Mi A3 in India on 21 August. Here’s everything that will be launched in India in a week starting from August 20.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+

Samsung showcased the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ globally last week on 7 August. Samsung is now set to launch both the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus in India on August 20. Both these Note series phones are backed by flagship-grade hardware and cutting edge features such as S-Pen Stylus, AR Doodle, Zoom audio, and more.

The 10genration Samsung Note series is powered by the Exynos 9825 SoC and a new Infinity display that has a centrally placed circular notch cutout. Unlike the Galaxy S10 series, where both standard S10 and S10+ both included a 2K+ screen, the Note 10 only gets to boasts off a full HD+ screen whereas the Note 10+ houses a QHD+ Super AMOLED screen. Samsung is offering these phones in different storage and memory combinations and they can be pre-booked now from e-commerce sites and Samsung official stores.

Realme 5 Pro and Realme 5

The day Samsung is launching its Note series in India, Realme is also going to launch its Realme 5 series in the country. The former Oppo sub-brand is said to be launching the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro on the day. Both these phones are aiming to be a camera champ in the budget segment with their quad cameras. The Realme 5 Pro is hinted to feature quad-setup with a 48MP Sony IMX586 as primary sensor accompanied by an ultra-wide camera with 119-degrees FoV. The third sensor will be a dedicated macro lens, while the final one will help in taking portrait photos.

The Realme 5, on the other hand, is likely to have specs-sheet similar to the globally launched Mi A3 aka Mi CC9e. The phone is said to be powered by Snapdragon 665 chipset and will include quad-cameras. You could read more about Realme 5 from here.

Xiaomi Mi A3

A day after the Realme launch, Xiaomi is launching its Mi A3 in India. It is going to be the same phone as the Mi CC9e in China. For global markets, Xiaomi rebranded the Mi CC9e as Mi A3. The smartphone is likely to feature a 6.01-inch HD+ AMOLED screen with 1560×720 resolution.

The display will be having a U-shaped notch on top of the screen featuring a selfie camera. It will be driven by a  Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 chipset coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Motorola One Action

Lenovo backed Motorola has scheduled Moto One Action India Launch on August 23. As the name suggests the phone will part of the Android One program.

Samsung Galaxy M40 alternative

Previously launched in Europe, the Motorola One Action comes with a 6.3-inch 1080p+ LCD touchscreen with 21:9 aspect ratio. Interestingly, the phone will be powered by Exynos 9609 chipset, and a 3,500 mAh battery. Optics wise, the Moto One Action comprises of a triple camera setup that includes a 13 MP main camera, an ultra-wide shooter with 117-degree field-of-view, and a depth sensor.

Google Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max

Google Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max are also likely to make debut in India next week. Earlier this year, Google renamed its Home Hub to Nest Hub which currently retails in the US for $129 (about ₹9,177). Similarly, the Nest Hub Max price for the US market at $229 (about ₹16,300). Both these Nest devices are based on AI-based virtual assistant – Google Assistant.

The Nest Hub Max comes with a 10-inch screen compared to the 7-inch display of the Nest Hub. The Max hub also features a 6.5MP wide-angle camera with 127-degree field of view. As for audio, it includes a 75mm 30W subwoofer and two 18mm 10W tweeters. Other key highlights of the Google Nest Hub are far-field mics, built-in Chromecast, ambient light sensor, and Bluetooth 5.0 as well as WiFi for connectivity.
