The Galaxy S24 series debuted in January 2024 and users since then have been waiting for the FE model of the series. The Galaxy S24 FE will sit between the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy A55 in Samsung’s tier of smartphones. So, what can we expect from the Galaxy S24 FE? Let us find out in this round-up where we’ll discuss the launch window, specs and price of the Galaxy S24 FE.

Galaxy S24 FE Launch Window

The Galaxy S23 FE was a successful launch for Samsung and looks like the S24 FE will be no different. And no, I’m not shooting a gun in the air, Samsung is actually mass producing the S24 FE in the millions.

This news comes from a South Korean manufacturer who claims that Samsung has already started mass producing the Galaxy S24 FE’s OLED displays—in the millions, that is. All this manufacturing is expected to be done by the mid of July—at the very least.

Therefore, we can say that Samsung has decided to pre-pone the launch of the Galaxy S24 FE and it could hit the shelves earlier than we had initially anticipated (in October 2024).

Expect the launch to be in July (July 10th, to be precise) at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris, France. If not at this event, Samsung could soft launch the Galaxy S24 FE via a newsroom post.

Galaxy S24 FE Expected Specifications

While we don’t have any concrete details on the specs of the Galaxy S24 FE yet, we do have some leaks and rumors that come from reliable sources. Based on these leaks and our expectations, here are the specifications of the Galaxy S24 FE:

Display

The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to feature the same design as the more expensive Galaxy S24 FE. The display bezels are also expected to get thinner this time around.

Speaking of the display, the Galaxy S24 FE will likely sport a 6.1-inch or 6.65-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display (smaller than the S23 FE’s 6.4-inch OLED) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. We’re not sure if the display would support LTPO or not.

Chip, RAM, and Storage

Under the hood, the Galaxy S24 FE could be using an underclocked Exynos 2400 chip. A recently leaked Geekbench score shows a 10-core CPU with a 3.1 GHz prime core. The core frequencies and architecture match the Exynos 2400, except the X4 core is clocked at 3.1 GHz instead of 3.2 GHz.

The single-core performance score is 2047, whereas the multi-core performance score is 6289. The multi-core performance is a huge upgrade over the Galaxy S23 FE. Also, the amount of RAM is still unchanged at 8 GB—likely LPDDR5. Speaking of, we are expecting 128 GB and 256 GB storage options with UFS 3.1 and UFS 4.0, respectively.

Just a reminder, the Galaxy S23 FE was available in two variants: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200. Unfortunately, we might not see a Snapdragon version this year. Also, since benchmarks are already floating on the web, an early launch becomes more plausible.

Cameras

Moving on, the Galaxy S24 FE is rumored to use the same main camera as the Galaxy S23 FE, which is the Samsung ISOCELL GN3—a 50 MP 1/1.57-inch sensor with an aperture of f/1.8.

The 3x telephoto lens is expected to remain the same, just like the 12 MP ultra-wide lens. As for the selfie camera, expect to see the same 10 MP f/2.4 lens from the Galaxy S23 FE.

Battery, Charging, and OS

The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to pack in a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 25W “fast” charging. Finally, the Galaxy S24 FE will be running on One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 and will most likely be promised four years of OS and five years of security updates. You can also expect all the Galaxy AI features on this device.

Galaxy S24 FE Price

There is no information on the pricing of the Galaxy S24 FE, yet. However, if we were to make an educated guess, the Galaxy S24 FE should land at the same price as its predecessor, at $599 in the US or INR 59,999 in India.

Final Thoughts

The Galaxy S24 FE, from the looks of it, is going to be an incremental upgrade over the Galaxy S23 FE. However, it’s too early to judge since the device isn’t launching until mid July. Speaking of July, Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event is set for July 10th in Paris, France.

At the event, Samsung is expected to unveil a range of new products, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Z Fold 6, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and more. Do you think Samsung should also launch the Galaxy S24 FE at the same event? Let us know in the comments section below!
