The Samsung Galaxy S25 Series has garnered attention recently due to its anticipated support for seamless updates. A recent report from Android Authority has validated this information, indicating that leaked files from the Galaxy S25 Ultra variant confirm the device’s compatibility with seamless updates. This feature is also expected to be available for the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus models.

What is the seamless update feature?

The seamless update functionality was launched by Google in 2016, enabling updates to be installed on partition B while users continue to operate their phones on partition A. Once the installation is finished, the device can be restarted. This feature ensures that the device remains operational during the installation process, with downtime occurring only during the reboot, allowing users to avoid waiting for the entire update to complete. However, a drawback is that this feature requires more storage space than standard updates, which is typically not a significant issue for flagship devices.

Samsung first adopted this feature in March 2024 for the Galaxy A55 smartphone and now it is being extended to Galaxy S25 Series launching in January 2025.
