The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was launched recently, and while Samsung revealed some basic details about its cameras, there was a lack of insight into the finer technical specifications. However, we now have the complete camera specifications for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Let’s dive into the details and see what has changed compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera Sensors

Starting with the ultra-wide camera, Samsung has replaced last year’s 12 MP Sony IMX563 sensor with its in-house 50 MP ISOCELL JN3. This new sensor offers an upgrade with 50 MP resolution, an f/1.9 aperture, and a larger 1/2.4-inch size (compared to the S24 Ultra’s 1/2.55-inch sensor).

The pixel size varies from 0.7 µm to 1.4 µm, depending on the mode, thanks to 4-in-1 pixel binning technology in the default 12.5 MP mode. The lens retains the same 13 mm focal length, but the wider aperture and larger sensor should theoretically lead to better performance.

The main camera remains unchanged from last year—the 200 MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor. It has a 1/1.31-inch size, an f/1.7 aperture, and pixel sizes ranging from 0.6 µm to 2.4 µm in binning mode. And yes, it’s a 23 mm lens.

The 3X telephoto camera is also unchanged, using a 10 MP Sony IMX754 sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, 1/3.52-inch sensor size, and 1.12 µm pixel size. This lens shoots at an effective focal length of 69 mm (though HWInfo app reports an actual length of 61 mm).

Similarly, the 5X telephoto camera continues to use the same 50 MP Sony IMX854 sensor, with 1/2.52-inch sensor size and pixel size ranging from 0.7 µm to 1.4 µm.  It’s using the same f/3.4 aperture as the S24 Ultra. The effective focal length seems to be 115mm.

On the front, the selfie camera also remains the same, with a 12 MP ISOCELL 3LU sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and 1/3.2-inch size, with a pixel size of 1.12 µm. Its 25 mm lens supports PDAF for better focus in selfies and video calls.
