As we get closer to the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6, leaks and rumors are becoming even more exciting. A new report suggests that the upcoming foldables from Samsung will exclusively use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in all regions. This is exciting news for Samsung fans, as Exynos is infamous for thermal issues and worse efficiency when compared to Qualcomm’s chips.

Earlier reports suggested that Samsung would adopt a dual-chip strategy similar to the Galaxy S24 series. This is not true, of course. The Elec suggests that Samsung will be exclusively using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on both the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Z Fold6 in all regions.

For the uninitiated, part of the Galaxy S24 series uses a dual-chip approach—using in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in North America and the Eyxnos 2400 in the EU, the UK, and India. Samsung has been employing this strategy for several years with the discontinued Galaxy Note series and the currently running Galaxy S series.

Although Samsung went all-Snapdragon last year, with the Galaxy S23 series, the reintroduction of Exynos to the Galaxy S24 and the S24+ means Samsung isn’t going to give up on Exynos anytime soon. Only time can tell whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Z Fold6, it seems Samsung won’t be introducing Exynos anytime soon, perhaps to further strengthen the sales of these devices and also its partnership with Qualcomm. The Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Z Fold6 will be launching at the next Unpacked event, tipped to be held on July 10, 2024.
