Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 with bumped-up specs as well as pricing in July 2024. Now, a Special Edition of Galaxy Z Fold has been in the works for a while. Seems like the wait is over as a report by Android Headlines reveals the first look of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. This Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will launch in 2024 itself but its availability will most likely be limited. The special edition foldable is a sleeker variant and can also be called Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim/Ultra.

As mentioned above, the first look of the device has surfaced online. It does look similar to Galaxy Z Fold 6 but upon analyzing closely, you will realize there are differences. It has a flat frame design with rounded corners and the camera island still includes three sensors at the back, in the same spot as the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
However, what is different is the shape of the camera island. It is not as round as found on Galaxy Z Fold 6 and is thicker as well. The cover display of the special edition has a centered display camera hole at the top for selfies and video calls. The hinge is hidden when the foldable is unfolded.
The rear panel of the foldable has a brushed metallic look, which might be glass with a different finish. Samsung might announce other color options as well. The power button will double up as a fingerprint sensor and can be seen on the right edge of the device. The volume rockers sit above that power button.
The special edition Galaxy Z Fold will be 10.6mm thick when folded and 4.9mm thick when unfolded. It is expected to feature a 200MP main camera at the back and sport an 8-inch main and 6.5-inch cover screen.

While the difference in specs and design will be minute, the special edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold will have limited availability as well. It is expected to arrive in China and South Korea only so other countries might not get it.
The launch date of the foldable remains shrouded in mystery.
