Samsung unveiled a range of cutting-edge audio solutions ahead of CES 2024, including the flagship HW-Q990D soundbar, the versatile HW-G60C, and the ultra-thin HW-S800D/S801D models. But wait, there’s more! Samsung also surprised audiences with the innovative Music Frame, a wireless speaker that doubles as a picture frame.

Samsung HW-Q990D Soundbar now Gamers and Movie Lovers Alike

The HW-Q990D to succeed the HW-990C which has been one of the best soundbars in India in terms of both performance and value for money. The HW-990D comes with upgraded gaming capabilities like the new HDMI 2.1 interface which enables smooth 4K 120Hz pass-through for next-gen console gaming. This future-proofed soundbar boasts an impressive 11.1.4 channel setup, which is similar to HW-990C, delivering immersive Dolby Atmos surround sound that puts you right in the heart of the action.

Samsung hasn’t forgotten about smart features either. The Q990D integrates voice assistance and the SmartThings IoT hub, making it the brains of your connected home. Its proprietary technologies – Q-Symphony 3.0, Q-Symphony, and Spacefit calibration programs are all on board, alongside support for the Roon streaming service.

Samsung HW-990D Pricing and Availability

While Samsung hasn’t disclosed official pricing and release dates yet, industry experts predict the HW-Q990D to follow its predecessor’s pricing. The HW-990C debuted in India for Rs 1,19,990. So we can expect the HW-Q990D to arrive in India in 2024 with a similar price tag.

HW-G60C: Compact Sound and Stylish

Samsung also announced HW-G60C which is a perfect options for small rooms and cabinet space. This sleek soundbar boasts built-in streaming capabilities and customizable LED lighting effects, adding a touch of ambiance to your living room. Four microphones cater to both smart assistant commands and in-game voice chat, while multiple connection options like HDMI (eARC), USB, AirPlay 2, and Chromecast ensure seamless connectivity.

Samsung adds HW-S800D and HW-S801D Ultra-Thin Soundbars to its portfolio

Samsung’s ultra-thin soundbars, the HW-S800D and HW-S801D, are just one-third the thickness of traditional models, making them ideal companions for wall-mounted TVs. Despite their slim profile, these models pack a punch with wireless Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony, and SpaceFit Sound Pro, offering a 3.1.2 channel experience. For smaller spaces, the HW-S700D delivers impressive sound in a package only 1.5 inches thick and 35 inches long, perfect for TVs up to 55 inches.

Samsung also showcases its innovative Music Frame

In a truly unique twist, Samsung introduces the Music Frame, a wireless speaker that seamlessly blends into your home décor as a picture frame. This versatile device works as a standalone speaker or pairs with compatible Samsung TVs and soundbars, offering a flexible audio solution. Two tweeters, two woofers, and two mid-range drivers powered by Samsung Space Fit technology deliver room-filling sound that adapts to its environment. For an even more immersive experience, you can pair multiple Music Frames together to create a surround sound setup.

Music Frame seems to be inspired by Samsung’s own Frame TVs which seamlessly blend into your wall as artwork. The Music Frame hides a powerful Wi-Fi speaker with Dolby Atmos support.

The Music Frame’s success hinges on two key factors: sound quality and price point. Can it deliver true Dolby Atmos immersion, or will it prioritize form over function? And will its cost fall into the “luxury item” category, like The Frame TVs, or offer genuine value for audiophiles seeking unique design? Samsung is yet to reveal its price so we will have to wait to get the answers to those two questions.
