TL; DR
- Prices for five Samsung Galaxy A and F series phones could increase starting in the first week of January.
- This includes the popular Galaxy A06 5G, the Galaxy F17 5G, and the Galaxy A17 5G.
The Korean tech giant Samsung might welcome buyers in 2026 with price hikes across some of the most popular Galaxy A and Galaxy F series smartphones. Although the news hasn’t been covered widely yet, it comes from an X post amid a global memory crisis.
Most recently, Xiaomi released its top-tier flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, at a higher price for the same memory variant as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, indicating that the memory crisis has already hit the smartphone industry.
These Samsung Galaxy Phones May See Price Hikes Soon
And it seems logical that ongoing production of popular models — especially in the mid-range segment, where margins are tighter — could increase. That said, prices for five Samsung Galaxy A and F series phones could increase starting in the first week of January.
| Current Selling Price | Potential Price Increase | |
| Galaxy A06 5G | Rs. 9,899 | Rs. 1,500 |
| Galaxy F17 5G | Rs. 12,664 | Rs. 1,000 |
| Galaxy A17 5G | Rs. 18,999 | Rs. 1,000 |
| Galaxy A36 5G | Rs. 26,999 | Rs. 2,000 |
| Galaxy A56 5G | Rs. 38,999 | Rs. 2,000 |
This is not the first time a smartphone company has raised prices on existing models. Most recently, the Oppo Reno 14 (8GB + 256GB) increased its base price from Rs. 37,999 to Rs. 42,999. The Reno 14 Pro (12GB + 256GB) also jumped from Rs. 49,999 to Rs. 54,999 for its baseline variant.

If rising memory costs are already forcing manufacturers to rework pricing for models already in the market, upcoming 2026 smartphone launches are likely to be affected as well. The forthcoming launch of the Galaxy S26 series comes to mind, and how it has repeatedly been rumored to carry a higher price at launch.
Moreover, rising memory prices could directly affect the launch prices of upcoming smartphones, making it harder to purchase a new smartphone in 2026.
