After revealing the Accentum Plus headphones, the German audio manufacturer Sennheiser has unveiled the HD 490 Pro. These headphones target the professionals who use wired devices for mixing, mastering, and producing music. Here’s everything one needs to know about the device, including its features and price.
Sennheiser’s Professional Headphones Feature 38mm Drivers
The Sennheiser HD 490 Pro comes with a 38mm dynamic transducer with neodymium magnets. The transducers are placed at a slight angle to mimic a typical loudspeaker monitor setup. Per the official website says the headphones’ max sound pressure level is 128 dB.
That said, the device comes with an open-back design with a wide, dimensional sound stage. They also feature a low-frequency cylinder for accurate frequency response. For sound aficionados, the device has an uncolored frequency response for honest, dynamic sound reproduction across the lows, mids, and highs.
The headphones weigh slightly over 260 grams with the cable, making them lightweight and comfortable. With the ergonomic design, professionals can wear the headphones for an extended duration. The Sennheiser HD 490 Pro features open-frame architecture that reduces total harmonic distortion for minimizing resonance and increasing audio accuracy.
The Dear Reality deraVR MIX-SE plugin is included in the headphones, which turns the DAW into an elaborate virtual mixing environment. These headphones come with two unique ear pads for producing or mixing. The ear pads are washable and replaceable, too. Further, the right and the left ear cups have jacks with detachable cables. This ensures that the setup adapts to any studio configuration.
