TL; DR
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 leak shows 4.2 to 4.4 million AnTuTu score, a 58% jump over Snapdragon 8 Elite’s 2.7 million.
- It could be called the 8 Elite Gen 5 or the 8 Elite 2.
- The official reveal will be at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii on September 22.
The AnTuTu score of Qualcomm’s next flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (or whatever it’s called), has been leaked. DCS on Weibo says that it has already achieved AnTuTu scores as high as 4.2 to 4.4 million, almost a 58% boost over the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s average 2.7 million.

The new chip reportedly uses two Oryon prime cores clocked at 4.61 GHz, backed by six performance cores, pushing single-core Geekbench scores 20 to 30% higher and multi-core scores 10 to 15% better than its predecessor. However, these numbers may not show up in the real-world testing.

Naming remains a bit unclear, as some sources call it Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 while others refer to it as Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Regardless, leaks indicate it will edge out MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, which is also expected to reach around 4 million points.

The next wave of flagships, including Xiaomi 16 series, OnePlus 15, iQOO 15, and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series are expected to adopt the chip. Alongside raw speed, efficiency improvements could deliver up to 20% better battery life.
Again, despite the numbers, real-world results may differ once factors like thermal throttling and software optimization come into play. Qualcomm has not issued an official statement yet, but the upcoming Snapdragon Summit on September 22 should confirm all the details. Stay tuned.
