Sony Honda Afeela 1 EV Debuts at CES 2025: Pre-reservations Now Open

Leading brands Sony and Honda have come together to announce the first EV that has been developed as a joint venture. Afeela 1 Electric Car has made its debut during the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show 2025 being held in Las Vegas. The Afeela 1 comes in two variants and the booking window for the EV has opened in California as of now. This futuristic EV blends cutting-edge technology and has been made official after years of teasing by Sony.

Sony Honda Afeela 1: Pricing & Availability

The Sony Honda Afeela 1 comes in two models-

  • Afeela 1 Origin- 77 lakh approx.
  • Afeela 1 Signature- 94 lakh approx.

Reservations have begun in California and are expected to start in global markets like the US and Japan in 2026. Deliveries will kick off in mid-2026.

Sony Honda Afeela 1: Design & Features

The Sony Honda Afeela 1 measures 4915mm in length, and 1460mm in height, and features a wheelbase of 3018mm. This electric vehicle is equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels and incorporates advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) that utilize 40 sensors and cameras strategically positioned around the vehicle.

The electric vehicle has been enhanced with all-wheel drive technology, allowing it to be regarded as a companion. This integration of sophisticated software and high-quality hardware ensures a travel experience that is safe, secure, and comfortable.

The Afeela 1 is equipped with numerous smart features, including an AI-driven Afeela Personal Assistant. This voice-activated assistant allows users to manage various functions within the vehicle through integrated technology. According to the company, “Each occupant can enjoy a variety of apps and content provided by entertainment partners through an optimized, unique sound system and displays by seat. Sony Honda Mobility’s proprietary noise-cancelling tech and expertise offers an overwhelming sense of quietness.”

Numerous additional features are available to improve convenience and entertainment. Each Afeela 1 model includes a three-year subscription to Sony’s premium services, which encompass Level 2+ autonomous driving, in-car entertainment, spatial audio, 3D mapping, and seamless 5G connectivity.

The electric vehicle comes with a range of specialized features designed specifically for its operation. It is outfitted with an array of cameras, LiDAR, radar systems, and ultrasonic sensors that gather data from the environment, ensuring a safe and secure driving experience for the operator. Additionally, the vehicle includes a 3D Motion Management System, which contributes to improved ride comfort and handling across different types of road conditions.

The Afeela 1 is built on the same platform utilized by the Honda 0 Series electric vehicles. It features a dual electric motor system that delivers an impressive output of 482 bhp. Equipped with a 91 kWh battery, this electric vehicle provides a range of 483 km on a single charge. Additionally, the battery supports fast charging capabilities of up to 150 kW and can be recharged through Tesla’s Supercharger network.

The final version of Afeela 1 is on display during the ongoing CES so those interested can experience it firsthand during the tech fest.
