Bollywood Megastar Shah Rukh Khan is coming back to the big screen after a hiatus of 4 years and as expected the craze around his upcoming movie ‘Pathaan’ is sky-high. The trailer of the movie was launched on the 10th of January before which 2 songs were unveiled. The trailer as well as the songs have got a good response from the audience setting the tone for 25th January when the film will hit theatres all around the world.
However, days before Pathaan’s release in theatres, the OTT streaming details for the movie have been revealed. The Delhi High Court has directed Yash Raj Films to make some changes to the film, for its OTT release. According to reports, the movie that has already been approved by CBFC will have to be re-submitted ahead of its OTT premiere. It is worth pointing out that, Pathaan on Prime Videos will come with some deleted scenes which were edited out from the theatrical release.
Pathaan OTT Streaming Platform & Date
SRK’s Pathaan will stream on Amazon Prime Video from April 22, 2023. According to Bar and Bench, the Delhi High Court has asked the producers to provide the film with Hindi subtitles, closed captions as well an audio description for the OTT release of the movie. This is for the benefit of those who have visual and hearing impairments.
Since the movie is just a few days away from its theatrical release, the court observed that while directions for the inclusion of audio description and other measures for the theatrical release cannot be passed at this stage, Single-Judge Justice Pratibha M Singh ordered the producers to submit these details by Feb 20 and directed the CBFC to take a decision by March 10.
Media reports claims that the plea was moved by 4 people- a law student, 2 lawyers, and a disability rights activist.
