Steam Deck was launched last year in July as a portable handheld gaming console from Valve. Deck quickly gained popularity across Canada, the UK, and the US among others. However, its presence in India has always been through imports and grey markets although the development company mentioned it will launch the same in India too. Cut to now, we have supposed pricing for the console hinting it could make it to Indian soil soon.

As aforementioned, Steam Deck is available in India via imported and grey market routes. However, the pricings are exorbitant. With the alleged Indian launch, consumers can buy the Steam Deck directly from Valve and through authorized and partnered stores in the country.

Steam Deck India Estimated Pricing

According to Rishi Alwani, a gaming industry insider, Steam Deck is likely to roll out in India starting at INR 62,500/- for the 64GB variant. The 256GB variant is at INR 77,000/- and finally, the 512GB variant packs in a pricing of INR 90,000/-. Note that these are estimated pricing based on the word of a reputed gaming insider, however, these aren’t from official sources.

These pricings are premium and in fact, almost twice what the console is priced at in the US. For instance, the 64GB variant is at $399 (roughly INR 30,000/-) whereas the leaked pricing suggests twice the premium.

Steam Deck Specifications

For the uninitiated, the Steam Deck is a portable gaming console sporting a 7” HD IPS display boasting 1280×800 pixels resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, and a 60Hz refresh rate. The console runs on an AMD Zen 2 SoC with an RDNA 2-based GPU capable of delivering up to 1.6 TFLOPS. The heavyweight gaming console offers varied storage configurations packing up to 512GB of NVMe SSD storage and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM onboard.

The Steam Deck is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, USB 3.2, USB-C, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth v5.0. DisplayPort 1.4 onboard lets you connect with external monitors offering gameplay at 4K@120Hz and 8K@60Hz. You get access to Epic Games Store and Xbox Game Pass with Steam Deck.
