TL; DR
  • We expect the Sierra to cost around Rs. 11.50 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the baseline Smart variant. Given that this is the ex-showroom price, the vehicle should cost around Rs. 13 lakhs on road (as it costs over Rs. 10 lakhs ex-showroom).
  • The top petrol automatic Fearless trim should cost around Rs. 18.5 lakhs (ex-showroom) or Rs. 20.5 lakhs on-road, while the Fearless diesel should cost around Rs. 19.50 lakhs (ex-showroom) or Rs. 22 lakhs on-road.
  • We expect the Sierra to be slightly more expensive than the segment’s popular models. However, Tata could surprise us with a special introductory pricing that takes sales away from the Creta or Grand Vitara.

Update (November 25, 2025): We were right about the introductory pricing of the Tata Sierra, as the company has launched the baseline variant at Rs. 11.50 lakhs (ex-showroom), similar to what we speculated on November 24, 2025.

With the Tata Sierra’s launch around the corner, the internet is buzzing with speculations around the car’s price. The compact SUV is supposed to rival the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Hence, Tata Motors must aggressively position it in the hot Indian SUV market if it wants the Sierra to succeed.

In this article, we’ll speculate on the Tata Sierra’s price and break down the car’s variant-wise pricing. Keep in mind that the automaker has not confirmed any of the prices or models mentioned below. They are the models that we think could comprise the lineup, along with the expected prices (based on the competing models’ pricing).

While this is based on rumors, Tata has yet to confirm any of the engine options mentioned above for the Sierra. Interestingly, the car is also said to come in an electric avatar, with two powertrains no less: 65 kWh and 75 kWh.

The Tata Sierra is shaping up to be one of the most exciting launches in the compact SUV segment. With a broad lineup across petrol, diesel, and eventually electric powertrains, Tata Motors seems poised to appeal to a wide spectrum of buyers. While our price estimates are based on current market trends and Tata’s existing models, the final pricing will ultimately determine Sierra’s competitive edge against segment leaders like the Creta, Seltos, and Grand Vitara.
