Tata Sky Binge+ Android TV Set-Top Box launched in India at Rs. 5,999

Tata Sky Binge+ has been launched in India today. It supports Google Assistant-based voice search, Google Play Store and other features of Android TV. This set-top box is available for sale on Tata Sky’s website from today for Rs 5,999. Compared to the other DTH set-top boxes, the price is slightly higher but here you also get a 1-month free Binge subscription.

Tata Sky Binge+ Features

This Binge + set-top box runs on Android TV 9.0 Pie software. Along with this, there is support for native Google Assistant voice-search. You even get a dedicated Google Assistant button on the bundled remote. By connecting Tata Sky Binge+ to the internet, you can easily stream content to other OTT apps like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hotstar, etc. In this, you can easily switch to the OTT app and live TV feed easily.

Tata Sky Binge+Most notably, it is an Android certified set-top box. So you can download more than 5000 applications and games from the Google Play Store.

It comes equipped with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. Tata Sky also offers Catchup TV feature which lets you watch TV content up to the last 7 days here. You must install the Tata Sky Binge app to access this feature.

Tata Sky Binge+ Price and Availability

Tata Sky Binge+ has been introduced in the Indian market at a price of Rs 5,999. For now, no information has been given about any of its upgrade plans. If you compare it with other operators, then Airtel Xstream Box is available for Rs 3,999 and Dish SMART Hub set-top box for Rs 2,499.

After purchasing the set-top box, you will also have to buy the channel pack so that you can also watch Live-TV easily. After a month’s trial, you will also get to see content from other OTT platforms i.e. Hotstar, Zee5, Prime, etc. at the rate of Rs. 249/month.

Users who purchase the new Tata Sky Binge+ will be given free Tata Sky Binge service for 1 month, which would otherwise cost Rs. 249.

If you recall, back in May 2019, the company launched the original Tata Sky Binge (review) service in partnership with Amazon India. This came with a free Amazon Fire TV Stick and premium OTT subscriptions like Hotstar, Eros Now, Hungama Play. It also endowed a 3-month free Prime subscription for new users.
