Tata Tigor EV launched to be India’s cheapest electric car

Tata Motors India has launched the Tigor EV in India. The new electric vehicle is available in three variants, namely the XE, XM, and XZ+. It comes with a dual-tone colour option. The car has been presented as the most affordable EV in the nation. 

The Tata Tigor EV is tested for the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for a range of 306km and has obtained a 4-star rating under Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). 

Tata Tigor EV Price and Availability

The Tata Tigor EV’s ex-showroom prices in India start at INR 11.99 lakhs for the base XE trim and go up to INR 13.14 lakhs for the top XZ+ Dual Tone model. The company has released two colour shades— Signature Teal Blue and Daytona Grey. The indigenous brand has commenced the booking on its official website and Tata showrooms with an amount of INR 21,000.

Tata Tigor EV Features

The Tata Tigor EV sports a liquid-cooled 26kWh battery that provides 55kW of power and 170Nm of torque. The fast-charging capability recharges the battery to 80% in an hour of the plug-in. A fully charged Tigor EV will let you drive up to 306 km. The battery is equipped with an IP67 rating for reliable performance irrespective of weather.

The Tata Tigor EV gets a few accent pieces to differentiate itself from the internal combustion engine-powered version of the car. These include the new LED daytime running lights and the new 15-inch alloy wheels.

The Tigor EV features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that works seamlessly with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has four built-in speakers and tweeters tuned by Harman. The EV car offers 35 smart features to be controlled with the ZConnect mobile app. The key specs include Safety & Security, Vehicle Health Alerts, Remote Commands, and Driver Behavior Score to name a few.

The Tata Tigor EV comes with various safety features, such as dual front airbags, anti-lock braking (ABS) system, and a rear parking camera. It also gets a 4-star crash rating from GNCAP. The car features a silent cabin with ample legroom and headroom for a comfortable seating experience too.
